Too bad the desk clerk didn't say:
"Oh, well when that happens the 928 guys just drive real fast and the water blows right off...but I guess that might not work for a 911...let me see what we can do..."

On a serious note though, my sprinkler at my house is on a well pump and my brand new white Tundra had a nasty rust colored stain from the high iron content in the water! Had to use polishing compound to take it out so I could see that being an issue.

Tell the *****'s to go up to their rooms, collect their gold chains and go f--k themselves. It's just a car and a little water. Oh wait, it must have been a sunny Sunday afternoon, and the only time they can get their car out of their climate controlled garage. The poor dears! Dr. Porsche must be turning over in his grave, these cars were meant to be DRIVEN.

Isn't that what hotel towels are for. Drying cars?

One of my businesses is Grounds Management. I have the account for the Marriott Hotel here in PCB. A large Corvette club had their annual meet here a month or so ago. I had complaints for this very reason.
Many of the cars had gotten wet during the night and the Hotel manager chewed my *** out for sprinklers being out of adjustment, which I knew the were not. I got the call during the night and arrived on property early in the morning about 5:30 in the AM, only to find the many the of the cars driven into the Landscaping, turf areas, etc. As in parked where they weren't supposed to be. Actually all in total there was around $2000 in damage to shrubs, one guy had driven into a crepe myrtle tree and snapped it in 2, Landscape lights crushed, etc.
The bill was forwarded to the Corvette club through the hotel. And still has not been paid. I just thought it was hilarious that they bitched about their cars getting wet by sprinklers but would treat their cars in such a way.

I agree. People who complain about this kind of thing is what gives us Porsche owners an arrogant, 'better than you' reputation. There's already too many people in todays society with an overgrown sense of entitlement. I wouldn't want to foster that attitude. Who would they complain to if it rained?

What he said. If you're such a dumbass that you park right next to a sprinkler even with your windows open, YOU are to blame. We're too much into always having others to blame for our own mistakes.

It certainly is getting out of control these days.

If you can't use common sense and make an effort to keep your car away from the sprinklers then you deserve it. If the sprinklers were blatantly spraying into the parking lot I can understand being pissed but these people should just complain about it and ask for the sprinklers to be corrected. I've lived in SoCal and the sprinklers are nasty (reclaimed water) but the water spots can be removed and it doesn't cause permanent damage.

Whats the latest development?
