Okay, this is what I would do. First I would bring it up to the hotel management and take lots of pictures and names. Then, I would move on...try to clean it myself or spend a little money to have it cleaned.
If that fails and it looks like its going to be a permanent problem.....thats when I will get angry and consider legal measures because now it becomes a big ticket item.
Sorry about the Santa Barbara pooop...its Ventura pooop....not much better IMHO.

It wasn't a car show. It was merely a luncheon/brunch celebrating 45 years of the PCA region. The cars were not intended to be shown. per se.
Ironically, many cars were parked against a red curb and in their fire lane. Those of us who parked legally in the parking lot, were the ones affected.

I hope at least their food was edible.
Why was this thread started in this technical forum?
And why was it the thread title worded this way with no information as to what happened.

I voted for apologize. But the hotel manager and Sheraton managment in general should be sent this thread... along with others and a notice that the PCA will no longer patronize their establishment. Maybe some negative comments on public rating sites to warn others.
But in general if I was in charge of booking 40 porsches into a hotel lot, I would make damn sure ahead of time they knew about it and had adequate and appropriate space where such things would not occur.

Proper perspective? Proper perspective?
While it is all to bad about your cars getting wet, and having to spend "hours to fix", I share absolutely no sympathy for the group.
I can't count the amount of times we have rolled up on a scene and had to deal with those who feel they are so much better then everyone else - and so damn privileged they can just park in the NO PARKING / FIRE LANES - if you ask me, this attitude is far worse! It sounds like you were immediately available in the event of a fire or major emergency - "so unless you left the meeting" - NOT. While the cars will clean up, and I can understand a bit of frustration.. the F'n "all about me" attitudes are forever. I will tell you your lucky there wasn't an emergency and I didn't have to push them out of the way with my little red truck - then you'd have a post worth talking about...
I'd be the first to offer up "that'll buff right out"!
I stand by my comment, chalk it up to a bad experience, quite your darn whinning and get on with the real issues in life.
I would wonder if the attitude that prevailed when the management was approached may have brought their attitude about too.
Just sayin....
The three sides to every story...
your's, their's, and the truth....
At least we know the sprinkler system was working.
And quimna, so sorry, but English is my first language and I still have a problem with it too - as you do my friend.
Now - please move this into the OT forum where it belongs!!!!!!

I had the same thing happen at my own work. The sprinklers went off sometime during the day and sprayed my car. No big deal except that it was 100 degrees out and my car is black! Got the car detailed and expensed it to the company.
If this would have happened to me at a hotel, I would just get the car detailed and eat the cost. Frustrating but what else can you do?

geezz....... I’m embarrassed to own Porsche now... Come on guys..... water, hard water, whatever....
They are cars…. if you take it outside you run the risk of getting it dirty (water, mud, rocks, scratches, whatever)..... if you are that sensitive to how your car looks, don’t take it outside, and if you do and something goes wrong: man-up and don’t tell anyone you are upset because your prissy car got wet.... Not to mention parking in the F-ing FIRELANE!!!!!
That being said, inside id be upset too....

Ok guys, I did not mean to start a thread that provoked such animosity. I tried to state things as simply as possible as not to sway anyone's opinion and it is possible that I did not have all the facts for which I apologize. The main reason for my poll is to see what people's expectations are knowing it would vary.
I posted it here as I valued the opinions of those hear I've come to know over the years. I've also never posted or even looked at OT but it appears that is where I should have done it so my apologies.

FWIW, products like CLR remove hard water stains like magic. Probably better to use it diluted. I had this problem on a boat and a simple wash with some wash soap and a few oz of CLR did the trick with no hard work. Might work on car paint as well...
