Default DFW 928OCIC Auto - Cross Event Fri July 31st

Roger-

I'm just back from the local Maverick Region PCA Board Meeting...

Here's what was offered (estimated figures):
Liability Insurance: $1,000
Site rental - possibly Texas Stadium lot (old) or a local school $500
For their equipment rental / use, Mav Region PCA will accept a $500 contribution to their Charity - Huffaker-Hughes Hope House (located in Mineral Wells)

Total expense: $2,000.

Saturday would be the optimal date to get the assistance of those in the know, who are local.
Some Board members were even willing to help out with the event!

What a great group of fine folks!

Is this something you wish to pursue? Is there still interest in an auto-cross event?
I trust we will have enough who are familiar with the event (eg, FL and OK and others) to assist with 'corner working' and the like.

Please Advise ASAP!
I need to get back with the Board.
Doc

Kim has taken up the Auto-Cross with our local PCA and as per the above email outlines the costs and the need for people to commit to participation.
The event can only take place on the Friday as the main OCIC show is on the Saturday.

Please log your commitment to the event here.

I will commit to one spot.
We need a lot more to cover the costs.

If I were able to go I would definitely be doing this. For those who have never auto-xed before this is the perfect opportunity to do so. What better enviorment than a bunch of 928s to run with. You will be able to experience car control that you will not be able to experience on the street. Get enough people together and the cost will come way down. This is about the same price our local PCA has to pay to rent out the airport.

Get 30 people to commit and it is like $70 each.... what a DEAL ! Plus there should be some experienced 928 drivers for rides and drives ! How can someone named the " Drift King " say no ?

It's unfortunate I have a life outside of RL. I just noticed this thread after I PM'd Roger about the need for a separate thread for the AC, Doh! I won't be in until Friday and without my car. AC is is some of the best and cheapest fun you can have with your clothes on, doing it with a bunch of other 928 owners can only be exponentially better.

As I said in the other post, IF I get there in time, or when I get there, hopefully early on Friday, I _WILL_ volunteer for corner worker duties, flagger, message runner, whatever you may need to have assistance with.

I will cover two spots - where is everyone else on this - are you 5 speed sissies going to let a auto driver show you up.
Where is your sense of adventure.

Maybe we can talk the great Mark Anderson into showing how it should be done.

Hmmmmmmm, a challange from a Rogerbox owner. To bad I'm working the convention center or I would be there to show the auto's how it's done.
