My guess is that he starts new ones with similar information and then some of the information overlaps.
Plus it is usually easier to get a faster answer with no responses than to wade through a bunch of info that you may already have read. just my guess

well i think that allot of this information is all rehashed anyway but when someone does a search its helpful to reference an old thread and bump it. But he insists on closing every thread so this becomes impossible and a NEW THREAD must be started

I only ask now as this is i think the 3rd thread that he has closed in the past 2 days

I understand when a thread is closed because it becomes a pissing match or goes WAY off topic, but I thought closing threads is really best left to the mods isnt it?

I also understand if an item is for sale and the thread is closed after its no longer available, but i dont know why he always closes his Query threads. Why the hell would anyone respond to them if they just get closed? I dont see what purpose it serves.

So long as he leaves the "I'd hit it thread" open, he can never do wrong by me.

Isn't Mongo the guy who walks down the street and punches a horse up side the head and the beast falls to the ground?

Then there's something about a telegram.............strange man indeed

no bug, there was something i was curious to find out about in a thread the other day and it was closed. So i cannot ask and inquire about it.

then today i saw another closed thread so im asking why you always close your threads that i think could be of use to other members

I have closed 2 threads in 2 days. 1 because I pulled the wrong one up by mistake via search and the second because I got a response to my fuel injector connector outside of Rennlist. Why should I leave it open if I got the response I needed? I would rather not waste people's time making something goto 3 pages and then close it saying, "Hey I got my connector 2 pages ago. Sorry guys"

Logic man, Logic!

I thought I could interject facts about today, June 11th, to make us appreciate the day rather than be concerned with other things. A pile of stuff occurred on June 11th including the birthdays of these fine members...mrjarvy, billiards, LAPS INC., 944girl, conejo (57), Barry Schultz (55), uhookt82 (54), landi911 (51), SIBEX (43), zahjah (43), pipster (41), jasonhe (41), PugslyPcar (38), 944racer (24), 959Lover (22)...Happy Birthday by the way!

The rest, please form your own opinion.

How is that for a distraction

the reason i bring it up is that i look through old threads when i need info on something. if its a 3 year old thread on a timing belt and i have a question i bump an old thread. If all these old threads were closed i would not be able to do this.

No one else closes their old threads to questions they needed help solving. Like i said, i get it when you close for sale items or other stuff, but i dont know why its necessary to close a technical thread, is that not why this board is of use? I dont come here for political banter, I come here to learn about the cars and buy and sell stuff.

So i ask you simply why you close your threads when others in the future may find it helpful. Is this illogical?

AGAIN, i am not trying to pick a fight, i just dont understand why you close a thread that could be of use to others, thats it. If you insist on it then by all means do what you wish, i just think that it could be of help to others if they were left open, otherwise they just disappear into the abyss.
