Default 928th post: 928 ownership in review

Had to mark this milestone post.

A little over 2 years ago I realized the dream of buying one of the dream cars of my youth. I have loved every minute of it so far (OK maybe not every minute, but it has still been great).

I got to thinking of what I have done so far with my 928 and feel pretty good about it. Prior to planning for 928 ownership I had exactly zero experience wrenching on cars, but I was definitely not afraid to learn.

So far I have:

Replaced all the fuel lines.
Replaced vacume lines.
Replaced power steering lines and O rings. (to fix a leak)
Replaced Air filter, fuel filter, oil filter X3, and air pump filter
Replaced Transmission filter, gasket, and fluid.
Flushed coolant x2
Cleaned all ground points with a wire dremel wheel.
Cam cover gaskets and cam plugs.
Replaced Spark plugs
Released flex plate pressure.
New brake pads and fluid.
Full intake R&R-with new TPS, ISV, knock sensors, crank position sensor, all hoses, gaskets, flappy actuator, and injectors sent to witchhunter, Intake and cam covers refinished (manual paint removal and rattle can spray).
New RMB

Plus I am sure a few other things I can't remember at this time.

Still to do:

New ignition components-ignition wires, caps, rotors-(ordering in a few weeks).
New O2 sensor (its due)
MAF refurb-(its original)
Motor mounts and oil pan gasket-no leaks, but while you are in there for the mounts, might as well
Trans mounts
B2 spring upgrade?-2-3 flare shift
New brake rotors-(a little pulsing when they get hot)
CV boots- not torn but look dry rotted
New shocks-(a little bouncy at speed)
Next timing belt due in 2 years- then change all pulleys and add Porkensioner
Air Conditioner rehab. (Blows luke cool)
X-Pipe-Thanks Mike, How could I have missed that?

Ultimately:

Supercharge that thang

I can't wait for that last one. But, I want to make sure everything else is up to spec before I add boost.

Rennlist has been invaluable so far. A big thank you to all who have helped me with my questions.

I can't get myself to go past 928 posts yet. I want to savor it. So, I am editing my original post to respond to the below posts.

Sidehatch. Good thing my 928 only has 104,000. I would hate for all this hard work to be wasted

A car like that is worth investing the money into,i should of realized that 108k is to much mileage to invest all this money on, i wish it had 40k on it.

Silly question but, why have you changed oil 3X in 2 years? Changed coolant 2X in 2 years? Just curious.
BTW, Looking great!

Thanks for the responses guys.

In answer to Jadz, I changed the oil as soon as I got the car and then on the one year anniversary (April) the last 2 years. The coolant I changed soon after getting the car because I wasn't sure when it was last done and then again when I did my intake R&R when I had the water bridge off.

And Xlot, I'm way ahead of you I copied the screen and saved as my avatar last night. I appreciate the gesture though.

Your description of what you have done and have plans to do leads me to believe you are just about the perfect guy for a 928. You take good care of the car and it will do well for you, like mine has.

After reading about what happened to styx. I am going to have to add trans fluid lines to my list.
