Then count me in as very interested in an 85/86 version if it isn't drastically more expensive. I'm looking to build an engine in the spring sometime, and I do not plan on running the stock management and/or maps. So it's either this or Megasquirt.

I was one of the fortunate ones to pick this unit up at SITM. So far I am very impressed with not only the software and footprint, but also the price. Excellent job, John! I have been awaiting this moment for a very long time.

If I may make one suggestion, you should either pre-load an image on the PEM or instruct people to pull their fuel pump fuse. When I went to load an image on them, becasue they were blank, the injectors went crazy and flooded the engine in a matter of seconds. If one was not paying attention, you coul easily wash the cylinder or even hydrolock the engine. So eiither a warning, or a pre-loaded bin file would fix this.

Is it possible to pull the code from the chips without removing them with the sharktuner, so they can then be loaded to the PEMs when they are installed?

I second this. It happens with ST MK1 too. I keep forgetting about it until I hear the injectors going nuts the first time you deal with new PEMs. Good idea for a warning to pull the injector fuse until the bin files are loaded into the PEM.

You have an '88 to which the ST is compatible.

Hello Andrew
Thanks for buying an ST2 :-)

In fact all the PEMs have an LH bin file loaded on them when they leave here. That's the way I test them.

So I am somewhat puzzled that you say the LH PEM was empty.

For one customer, I supply pairs of PEMs for LH and EZK, he then just fits them straight into the ECUs of a car in his garage, so he can just start it up and move it around his shop without even connecting the ST.

There is also another scenario, which is that if you leave ignition on (but engine stopped) when ST is on the System monitor screen, this can result in injectors pulsing. This is also true of ST1.

So I guess I ought to buy one for the 86.5 and 85 Euro, just in case Mark ever gets mad at me.

dr bob, thats some darn good advise, as usual.
I have a friend who is 40 years old, and was asked by a particularly attractive female if he had ever met someone that made him think serious about marriage.
I loved the reply - "Yes, I think seriously about it all the time. That is why I'm a bachelor". I think he went home by himself that night.

John,
This is really exciting. I just finished putting my cold air intake on and it would be great to next do some tuning. Who will be doing the demo at OCIC. I have never seen a Sharktuner actually being used so this would be a great time for me to see if my fairly small brain (or the fairly small brains of the other Colorado 928 owners) could handle it.
Thanks, Ralph

Hey John, If a wideband is required for this car, can I opt not to buy the Innovate Motorsports LC-1 and use the AEM UEGO kit instead? It uses the same Bosch wideband sensor the Innovate one uses and includes a gauge that mimics the narrowband signal as well the LH needs.

Here is what the AEM kit looks like:

Hi Ralph
All being well, Louie Ott and Jim Corenman will be demo'ing the ST2 and also the additional software Jim has developed.

I think you will find it a very interesting demonstration :-)

They will also have units for sale.

I've created a new web page on my site for ST2
http://www.jdsporsche.com/Mk%202%20sharktuner.html

You can download the User Manual for ST2 from there and also the ST main page

Yes, you do need a WBO2 system to ST your LH ECU

I looked up the AEM website and the tech spec for that system says it has a
0-5v WB ouput signal, but programming it seems a bit complicated.

http://www.aempower.com/images/produ...%2030-4100.pdf

The WBO2 input of the ST2 is programmable to allow the usage of alternative WBO2 sensors. The vottage range is 0-5v max analog, but you can program in any law in that range.

I personally prefer Techedge 2J1 or similar.
