I was shocked that europeans had gotten into tractor pulling, until I saw that they were dutch.
That's not an insult, BTW, I love the netherlands and the dutch. I have friends in the ag industry there.

Just a little leak-by with a pressurized intake means a pressurized crankcase. With a nitro mixture of course. Leaky cylinder backfires through the intake one way and the crankcase the other.
Amsoil would have had a slightly smaller fire. Right Mark?

Ok, I feel a little better. How do you blow the entire block off and still have most of the pistons attached to the crank? Does the thing hole a piston and then fill the crankcase with air/fuel and then light the thing off like a bomb?
There are some impressive top fuel blowups that remind you why they put those kevlar blankets over the Roots blowers....

Not a drag race fan I take it, at least the crank was still on one piece.
That sort of thing happens at almost every NHRA pro race.
I have been right next to one when it let go almost that bad, it blew the injector hat over 200 feet out into the woods, from a simple throttle blip and a broke cam gear.

In the old days before the straps and blankets it was common for blower impellers to go 2-300 foot up in the air.
