Talking A long weekend back road cruze thru Montana

Hey Montana 928's and other porsche's. How about a 3 day weekend this summer. Find a couple of full day drives on back curvy roads to some destinations in Montana, Idaho, or Wyoming then kick back over some beers at night. Kinda like our own Sharks in the Mountains. Of course we have real mountains out here.

I'm in - I also mentioned this to Paul (not a poster here .....yet!). My buddy from back east (Greywolf on Renn) is planning to drive his shark out this summer. We'll try to coordinate it all. Maybe Malcolm will come come down too?

I'll be spending a few weeks running around Montana in July, but I didn't intend to bring a 928. Maybe I'll have to rethink that.

My parents live in Plains, about an hour nw of Missoula. Awesome roads in Montana, especially around/through Glacier National Park. I think the Canadian guys used to arrange a 928 trip thru GNP a few years ago.

When?

I'll be back and forth to Idaho all summer from my place here in WA. I'm already planning to head east from Lewiston on Hwy 12 to Missoula (Great twisty river road through the mountains), wouldn't be much of a stretch to head down to Bozeman.

Hey,
The Lewiston road is awsome! I had a chance to drive in my 83 928 5spd a few years ago. I would love to do the Glacier run, just be advised if we enter Canada (which I'm all for) you have to have your passport and no record.

Default Running warm after SC

Ok,
When it gets in the high 60's and above I am challenged with keep her cool when driving in town or pushing her on the open road.
I have done or had done all I know how to keep my car running at least in the middle of the guage. 4 pull fans, one large push fan, a new aluminum radiator and wiring the fan to be continuously on. Any ideas out there?
Thanks ahead of time!

Have you checked your temps with something other than the dash gauge?

Assuming your not steaming, thumping and detonating, the first thing to do is spend a few bucks for a lazer thermometer and see exactly what the temps are and where. Sounds like you have enough fan's there for liftoff.

I'm going to forward this on to some of the local PCA members if you don't mind?
Anyone else interested in a dyno day at Mike's Offroad at 4 Corners? I'm interested in seeing my AFRs and power numbers after I install my a different MAF..

We'll - won't be a full weekend, but a good day trip down thru the Park (YNP) thru the Bear Tooth and Red Lodge then back to Bozeman - good driving trip. August 22d. End up at my place for refreshments afterwards. Let me know if you care to join. We should have a pretty decent group, including a RUF 930 for those who want to test their chops!
