Had lots-o-fun on the Dragon this AM (before the Harleys get on it). Almost got pulled over, and almost lost my breakfast. Luckily, both styayed where they were.
I've got lots of great pics, but can't upload because I forgot the cable at home.
Starter seems to have crapped out. I pulled over to take a pic and when I got back in the car... nothing. Zero , zip nada. Fortunately for me, I was on a hill and I gave the car a slight push and popped the clutch and it started. I tried it again later while coasting down a straight hill (rare in these parts) and the starter worked. Ok...
I stopped at autozone to get a few supplies, and when I got back in, nothing. Swapped relays, still nothing. Hmmmm. Battery voltage is fine at the jump post. SO I guess the starter has probably pick a most opportune time to crap out. Popped the clutch again and it ran fine.
Ernest is bringing me another starter to try! He's such an awesome guy! (Jeannie's pretty awesome too!) Not sure how I'll be able to change it out here. Should be pretty funny to see a Fat guy try and get under his car. LOL!
See all y'all tomorrow in BE.

Andrew - try tapping on the starter body with a hammer or big wrench (assuming you have no belly pan covering it).
If it then starts it means the brushes are toast and time for a new starter.
Mine behaved exactly like that a couple months ago. New starter and all is good.

Thanks Randy. We're having a torrential downpour right now, so nothing is happening for a while. WIll a adjustable wrench hammer work?
Also, found Worf's post on connecting the yellow wire at the 14-pin post to the hot post - if no start, then starteris toast.

Some times it helps to have someone hold the key in crank mode when your smacking the starter.
If you need any tools or shop space, let me know. I am in spruce pine, about a half hour away. I do not have a starter, but most any tool you need and a dry roomy shop.

I was going through Nashville Tn about 6pm(central time) June 4th for work, and saw about 8-9 Sharks all in a single line heading east on I-40. It looked awesome. I assume they were going to the fest. I've seen quite a few 928's this entire week, you guys should have a good turn out and great weather!

6pm in Nashville would have been us, the Texas posse. Overnight stay in Lebanon TN. Should be in Banner Elk for a late lunch.

Obviously since I'm here - and your there - and I'm not even all here - so chances are your not all there either.....
SOMEBODY GIVE JEANNIE A HUG FOR ME!
I'll catch it next year...... and I hope to see DR and Jeannie before then.
Have fun folks - and stay safe
And remember - don't feed the uniformed bears.
