its been for sale for probably 18 months or more, looks like a nice car but i think your target market price should be closer to $20K then $25
hopefully the engine last longer then Rob's too

That is a sharp GTS!
Pricing will probably depend on its current mechanical condition. Ask them if any maintenance history is available to review. If not then I would assume the worst and offer accordingly.

It was posted in another thread here a few weeks back. Does look like a nice car and a few folks had looked at it and liked it. Not sure anyone went as far as a PPI though...

Just spotted this linked off Pelican:

Looks like at least one PO was an enthusiast - upgraded clock
Given where it is, you can probably get it checked out by local 'listers.

Daymon-
Here's my report to Darien on the 89GT in Costa Mesa, CA . It drives and stops very well, though I only drove it ~2 miles. This was back in mid February, so if it's still for sale, they ought to be starving to death by now over there.
Overall the paint is beautiful, with the exception of the door ding and the paint blobs on the hood and upper door frame. One weird thing is that the sunroof panel has a bunch more small swirls and scratches than all the other panels. Also, there's a T-shaped seal that fits between the headliner and the metal roof panel along each door. It's missing on the driver's side. So either someone got into the headliner for some reason, or the whole car got a respray at some point (A very good one, if so) but maybe they removed the sunroof panel?
In any case, I'm honestly not sure whether it's been painted or not. The paint is a little bit nicer overall than the interior- that's not a negative on the interior as it is VERY good, it's just that maybe the paint is too good to be truly original.
Have a look through the pics and yell if I can answer any other questions.
RE: value, tough call. If asking is 17.5:
Negatives: It's got a seeping steering rack and a seeping transmission case (all of them seep out the upper vent hole, dunno why) It's too low to the ground, the rotors have big lips on them. The door skin is going to require bodywork and paint, as is the front of the hood if you care about perfection. There are also some superficial scratches on the rear bumper cover, dunno if they'll buff out. It's got a crapload of aftermarket electronics in the back, a bazooka subwoofer, and a Clifford-looking alarm with an LED on the shifter frame. it's been lifted on the main frame rails at least once. The engine compartment is dirty and the intake was not refinished. Most important, no records!
Positives: It's a real 89 GT by the VIN, per Rixter's data on the 928registry. It's not listed in the registry, FWIW. It's also got a GT block (M28.47 85K XXXXX, couldn't see the whole thing) on the stamping.... .The paint is beautfiful, the seat bolsters are very nice, the pod is perfect, the dash is only minimally cracked, and it drives and shifts and brakes very well.

thanks Darien and thanks Rob.
i appreciate that. looks okay from the pics i guess. some issues that are obvious.
i'll see if i can find more information and if it is still for sale.
you know Darien looking back i really wish i had held onto the S4. timing and emotions forced me into that sell. neither one of us were happy on the deal but i sincerely appreciate you not loosing faith and staying such a great friend. i did the right thing at the time and just so happy dad is still with us and he and mom had everything they needed.
thanks!
