Default 928 Video Project

Friends,

I am working on a 928 video project that I hope to have completed by OCIC the end of July...

I could use some more content though. If you have some good high resolution photos of the interior or engine bay of your car that you don't mind me using that would be AWESOME! If you have a REALLY CLEAN car and some exterior high res shots of it you might send those along too. If the background is not nice or the picture is not well composed please don't over load my inbox. Also, I won't use pics where copy rights might come in to play or there are people in them...

There is no money for participating (I will probably lose money on this anyway) but just the fun of knowing you helped out and maybe seeing your car on TV (DVD)...

If you have video you would allow me to use that would be even better. Again, no people or places in the video where there could be issues with rights infringement and such and I need the raw video on the tape. I only have two formats I can work with right now, MiniDV and 8mm... Love to have some GOOD track footage (that is kind of hard to come by) and in particular of the car on track from outside, not on board stuff so much...though some of that is good too.

If you are interested in helping email photos here: jmorrison at austin dot rr dot com (don't want any more spam picking this up than I already get).

If you want to send me some video then email me and I'll give you the address to ship it to.

Thanks guys for any help you can provide! Looking forward to getting a bit more content for this project and getting it wrapped up.

James,
Your project sounds like fun I sent you the video of my S-4 dyno'd and a couple of photos of the car. Would love to see the finished product

Only send video by mail and only if it is in the MiniDV or 8mm formats... compressed stuff via internet won't work. Not high enough resolution for real TV screens.

Mark K and Mark A should both have some good wheel to wheel video...no doubt about it. I especially like that Mark A video from quite a few years back where he starts at the back of the pack and within a few laps has passed EVERYONE! That is AWESOME! That is a long clip I would LOVE to include... Anderson...you reading this?! Put a copy in the mail to me!

J,

Slightly off topic, but you MAY have another hand with cars for OCIC...

Everyone else,

I've seen most of the footage that James already has, and I think that most here would really enjoy it. It is a STRICTLY 928 affair. Where else and WHO else would be better for it? If my car was still around there would be some good S3 footage....

James,

Another option might be full resolution AVI files on data-DVDs. The AVI files captured from an 8mm camcorder is about 15GB/hour, so one 4GB data-DVD should hold an AVI file about 17-18 minutes long. Ah, but you might be using a Mac, ok, well just something to think about...

I think I have some driving video from Marble Falls in 1080i HD!

Don,

I am a Mac addict!

Jon, shot LOTS of new footage! Tons of action stuff with all the cars...no wait, nothing with the '84 yet and nothing new with the '92 either, but that is coming in a couple of weeks. I need to get some of the '84, but Carl is using that car right now.

Doing my best to do justice to our awesome cars, but I am no professional at this stuff... I have directed if not shot all of the video footage, edited it all, the whole bit...so, if it sucks I have no one to blame but ME anyway! I kind of like it that way...

If all goes well the unveiling will be OCIC... I will be incorporating still images as well as any other video images that I can get hold of that work for the program...

Did he get tired of the '81? I imagine that it is getting a new stereo as well? That man and his stereo stuff is just crazy. I need to let him loose on my car. I imagine I would pay handsomely for that! Too many other thing to pay for, like BOOST!

We needed to put the '81 in the shop to have some work done to it (like a new T-belt...the old one was 12 years old! LOL!) and so he took the '84. I don't think he has put a new stereo in it yet...if he has he has not told me about it. The one he did in the '81 is very nice though. I like it.

Another picture request.

Send to my home email: jmorrison at austin dot rr dot com

High res pics only (above 5 megapixel).

I need several different shots of each car. Kind of want to set it up as a walk around. Hood open front of car looking at engine, same pic hood closed, drivers side (could be a 3/4 from front or back even if you already have those and don't want to reshoot), rear hatch closed, rear hatch opened. That is all I need. I can string those 5 or so pics together to make a nice little photo wald around.

I need these shots for 78, 78, 80, 83, 85, 86, 87, 89, 90, 91, 93, and 95 models.

If you can help I would love to use your shots in the video I am producing...

Thanks guys and thanks to those who have already sent some AWESOME pics that will be in the video.

Best to you all!

Bumpity bump...

Still need full pics of the 78 (hello Chuck...are you reading this??? Break out your camera and get me some Kermit pics! ;-), 79, 80, 83, 85, 86 (I may have '85 coming...can't remember the year of a friends S off the top of my head), 87, 89, 93, 95 (again, Chuck, while you are shooting Kermit, pull the hot '95 out too...I know I know you have had bad weather this weekend.)

No great rush to get the pics but I would like the donors to line up so I will know they are coming.

Need 7megapixel or great picture size and I need Front from standing position, same but with hood open, side (standing), rear standing hatch closed, rear standing hatch open to view interior.

Thanks guys. Hoping to finish up primary filming this week and I think things are coming along well.

Oh, prefer the car to have factory wheels on it and will take those over pics with non-factory wheels first, but need all year models. No exterior body mods for this project...have another project rattling around in my head that might use them though... We will see how this one goes first.

Thanks much! Raw racing video footage from Mark A and Joe F would be nice too...again, that might be the next project...but better to have it and not use it than not have it and need it.

Feel free to dig through my site. The "New Wheels" page should have some front & rear shots where you can't tell that the wheels are not original, and there are a few shots where the phone dials are still on there. I generally resize to 640x480 but if you see anything you like I have almost all of the pics in their original 2272x1704x24 bit size. Some pics were taken by other people(like the one below) and I may or may not have them in higher resolutions.

I also have in-car video of the SITP fundrive that I hope to have on YouTube later this week. When it's up I'll post a link and if you see any portions you like I can burn the raw footage(1280x720x60fps) to DVD for you. Some portions of the raw footage may not have audio.
