After talking to Roger yesterday, I doubt he is going to be recommending the FEBI chains any more once he saw the difference in them.
I will let him explain what his thoughts on the chains were.

The lose chain could have been the reason for the holbert cam teeth breakages. However, one cam chain tensioner was broken (piston out of the socket), so it was jammed and not working. But, the other side was fine and all cams had teeth losses.
So far, a few years later and still no issues and original cam tensioners and pads, but new racing chains.

I responded to new and used chains orientation.
There are others who run high rpm but haven't reported cam teeth breakages, hope MK chimes in.
Back to the m/cycle analogy.........drive chain sprockets get hooked from wear as the chain wears and stretches but I've never seen this on cam gears. Must be the environment diff the chains live in.

I dont see the "stress risers" that have been machined off. what i can say is that the racing chains did look quite different than the stock chains and fit very tight when assembled, even before the tensioners were installed.

Just to throw some fat on the fire - here's why I went with the IWIS racing chains

I just was not happy with the slop in them when new.
The pitch length was the same.
I am just overly picky about things.
Roger has a word for it.

The Bilstein and the IWIS stock chains are very similar.
I will try and do some comparisons. Plenty of them sold with no reported failures at all from what I can see. The 944 part number means they are used on both cars (944 & 928). I checked with the wholesalers and they have no returns at all for both manufactures. If they were a problem I am sure they would be flagged by now. Based on cost they are a choice some would prefer to make. I have always offered the choice of the Bilsteins and IWIS racing.
I will now make it clear that there are 4 choices including the Porsche ones.
Reading what was said about the IWIS racing V the Porsche chains the IWIS racing is a better choice maybe.
You pays your money you makes your choice.
Thanks for the education - I lean something new about this car everyday.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?
