93 GTS FS...UNDER 25K!!!!!

Huh? I never heard of having to replace the rods. Believe me, if you spend $30k on a car, you won't have to do anything but drive it and keep up the regular, routine maintenance on it (assuming it's a legit $30k plus car, and passes a ppi). You can get a very inexpensive well maintained and reliable shark (I just sold mine that exactly fit that description). Just watch here.
The rod issues on the '93's are pretty much a non issue. Unless you are going to boost it.

I drove the exclusive motors GTS when I was searching for my car. The interiors in great shape and the engine bay is clean; it drove great and it appears to be an excellent deal. In the end I had my heart set on a manual so it wasn't the car for me but it will make a complete steal for the right person.

Earlymidlifecri,
Not sure who filled your head with crazy stuff about 928's... Probably someone who never owned one though! Happens all the time.
If you have $7k to spend you will be looking at a dogged out S4 or a decent S... If you are going to use it as a DD then just go for a really nice well maintained higher mileage car and be done with it. If all the maintenance is done it will be cheaper to drive than the TT Cab I suspect.
A non-tweaked (ie. Turboed/SCed) 928 engine should go 300k miles EASY! If you get anything less than an S4 though you will like the body but won't like the power (actually there are some '85/'86 cars owned by folks on this list that make every bit as much power as the S4's and they weigh a few hundred pounds less to boot)...
Good luck in your quest. 928's are cheap, beautiful and fun, there is no reason not to own a whole bunch of them. Oh, I don't own SIX, read the sig again... SEVEN!

Do you remember what the exterior paint was like on that '93 GTS at Exclusive Motors?

Joe,
I can't believe your awesome car has not sold! UNREAL! If you had been trying to sell it a year ago, it would have been snapped up WAY sooner and for more money I suspect! Goes for anyone selling a car in the last 6-8 months really I guess.
Good luck to you!

Hey, does someone have photos of the different bodies over time from all angles, so I can see the difference? I think I prefer the old tail light setup vs. the late-80's.
If I had really been thinking ahead, I would have saved my money and bought both a 996TT and a 928 today, but every 928 I saw around town or on the web looked like a complete beater. I wasn't aware this group was out there saving them.
Joe, I have tried to contact you about seeing your car. Honestly, I don't think that I'm interested in a sc'ed car, but I'd be thrilled to see it or swap you a ride with my TTC.

You guys are killing me! I was hoping to hear: "These can be a nightmare to fix and/or get parts" or "928's are worse than F308's." Arrgggghhhh.

I've seen the car but have not driven it. The paint is about what you'd expect on a ~100k mile car. It's not what I would call show quality by any means but, it's a high mileage ~16 year old GTS at a smokin price.

Thanks Dan and Chuck for the info on the '93 GTS. It's so hard to tell what kind of shape that car is in from the pictures on Exclusive's web site. I have read here the owners are good guys and I've had an eye on that car now for about three months. I agree, that is a smokin deal.

Early,
There are more things available and more competent mechanics for the 928's today than EVER BEFORE! It is cheaper and more fun to have them now than when they were actually being built!
