Default vertical grill inserts(replacements)

Well I got my new "S" spoiler mounted on my 81 euro S.... I ordered 3 new inserts from 928 int, but when they showed up they looked like total ****. I put them on and 1 of them broke while bolting on because they are so cheap. IMHO they should be made on a cnc from black nylon for the price they charge. While I am waiting for a replacement I made some at work out of t6 aluminum....

I still need to mill and drill the tabs after I measure the car. Since our cnc is tied up I just cut them on the band saw. I doweled the 2 outers together and cut a single for the center. A quick clean up on the belt sander and they should look pretty nice. I was wondering if I had a market for these If I got them into production.

I'd buy a set but your black nylon idea would be better I think.

The two outside uprights are still available and still good and will last 20 years before they go the same way as the ones on our cars originally.
Not much of a market and the center from 928 Int is about as good as it gets while trying tp keep the price reasonable. Better than nothing. If you can sell them for less than $20 you may sell a few.
$15 and I may be interested.

I was more or less thinking a whole aluminum kit..... inserts and grill all aluminum. I should hit my buddies job shop and see how busy he is.

I realize the ones we offer are less than wonderful and I'd love to be able to offer a better alternative. Please let me know what you can do.

Will do Mark. I want to thank 928 Int for sending a replacement free of charge. I will get my aluminum inserts mounted and post some pics.

Count me in for a set of verticals. When I bought my 86' it came with broken uprights, I replaced them and broke them installing them, so I'm back to a gaping maw. The horizontals are not necessarily needed as I bought a set off of an 81' and they're black tinted stainless. If you can get the price in the sub $100 range, they'd easily be marketable, as no one has ever really addressed this problem before...they just stay with the sub-par originals.

The crap quality has a benefit that I've discovered. If you're gentle with assembling them, you won't break them. But the real benefit is that they tend to break long before your $400 chin spoiler will.

And are less likely to be driven through the condenser and radiator. Trade off.

Aaron I'll purchase a set. Been looking for something like this for years. Been asking people with a CNC machine to make this but no-one listens to me.

I'd be interested in a set, if they are reasonably priced, just let me know.
