1mm off the base circle makes .5mm more lift. (right?) if so, the lifters can handle it.

Pretty sure its 1mm gives 1mm, lift is minimum radius to maximum radius.

Several factors in play with base circle reduction;

Without using a shim or taller valves the lifter moves up in the thing, and the oil hole on the side of the lifter may not match up as well with the oil feed.

More movement, more force on the lifter could cause more wear or maybe outright failure.

My cams are still at delta cams. I call but they say they will check on it and call back but never do.

Well, I have been just checking with them every few months/weeks. I think they have had the cams for at least 6 months. I was in no particular hurry however.
