Default F/S: Murf Stage I Supercharger Kit - Initial Post

The time has come to part with my Murf Stage 1 supercharger kit due to changing economics .... I bought this kit from Tim Murphy himself in mid-2007. Finally got it installed and running October that year. This is the 32-valve S4 kit that fits 1987 and later 928 S4's. Mine was installed on my 1988 928 S4 auto (*which is going up for sale in a couple of weeks as soon as I finish the intake reinstall after some pesky vacuum leaks - see avatar*). The kit has about 3,500 miles on it and was used for an occasional commute, weekend fun vehicle (not raced). I was religious about all installation instructions, procedures and only the best oils, etc (Mobile 1 20-50).

There are couple of upgrades: 1) I replaced the plastic blow off valve that came with the kit (Bosche/Audi/VW version) with a race quality polished one (pictured). I replaced the original kit tube from the s/c head unit to the MAF intake (the blue hose) with aircraft quality silicon hose, and I'm including 2 additional smaller pulleys (7 lb. boost, 15 lb. boost) for those inclined to experiment (I never got around to it, and BE CAREFUL about denotation for the smaller pulleys - recommend larger injectors, remapped fuel, etc.). I had a bung welded onto the intake tube for a boost gauge (see pic.) that you can either plug, or for an additional $150, I'll add the boost gauge and tubing to attach it. I will also send instructions (Murf's version) and will bag/tag the little bits. When installed, a proper running 928 will make high 300HP to the rear wheels (about 355HP/400TQ at 5 lbs. boost). I prefer to sell to the 928 mechanically inclined, but I had no prior 928 experience (and weekend home mechanic background when I installed it) and although it took time, is very doable (I did mine in the driveway).

I'm posting here first before resorting to Craigslist/EBay at a price of $2,850 (roughly 1/2 the original price) - as is, no warranties. No negotiations, final price. You pay shipping. I would prefer PayPal, or of course cash. If you're in the northern CA area, I can arrange to meet (I live in Santa Rosa - can meet anywhere as far south as San Jose, or east to Sacramento). I'll be in and out this weekend (it's Easter), so I may not reply immediately. Thanks.

Thats a killer price for just the head unit and the bracket - let alone the fact you get everything else.

I want that. Let me see what I can pull together.

I can sell my extra 3-piece wheels and GTS front brake kit and be over halfway there. Problem is this kit won't last long.

FWIW, this is not me calling dibs.

Only 300hp at the wheels? Do you mean 400hp at the wheels?

Great price, and you're close to me.....Hmmmm, I could sell the spare 5spd transmission, the spare GT CS wheels....some other bits and goodies....

Just dreaming, carry on...

Sorry to hear that economics is forcing you away from your 928. This is a killer deal on the Murph kit, especially considering the extras you include.

If you still have your car, which I recall was a nice one, on May 9th, please come to Sharks in the Park IX and put up a for sale sign. Your SC kit should be gone momentarily.

Just happend to sign on actually. A couple of glasses of wine helps as well. In all seriousness though, i will take it.
It may sit in a box for a while but the price of a decent S4 or 86.5 these days and this to bolt on for over 450hp (you guys are WAY TOO conservative....well, may be not Tom ) is too good of a deal to pass.
I never looked at the time of the post Tom...Dang.....8.5hrs! i saw it and replied in 3 minutes!

Ok..so i put the CS on the front...it feeds the TS from the back right...anyone have the writie up for that?....

Nuts. That's what I get for going to Easter Vigil tonight. Oh, well...maybe that's a sign that I don't need a supercharger.

Thanks to all for the nice responses. For those that have PM'ed me., I will be available starting tomorrow (Monday) for follow up (Easter turned out to be much busier that I thought). I do honor first come, first serve, asking price policy. And yes, it was closer to 400hp at the rear wheels, not 300....
