928S4 lights out on drivers side
Ok I did some searching on this topic and the closest I could find were just the parking lights out.
My car 1987 928S4... all the lights... well other than headlights... are out on the drivers side.
The parking lights front rear, side markers front and rear, the reverse light and the brake light... DOU!
I checked the lines at the rear, checked the connection at the tail lights... checked the connection at the front.
What the heck is going on! Is there any one junction that is normally suspect when this happens? Is there some relay or fuse that is not in the typical area in the passenger footwell I should know about?
This car is driving me to drink! Well... admit I did drink before it... but I want more now! Just get one thing fixed and figure I can now pass inspection and the lights go out!
Ohy!
I did check the fuse for the left side and for some reason there was a 30 amp fuse in there. The stock is 5 I believe. It was not blown and I swapped in the correct fuse. It also did not blow.
HELP> need to get it inspected within days.

Use a test light or voltmeter/multimeter to find where you lose the power.
Start at the light sockets - if you have 12 vdc at the sockets but no lights, check the grounds.
If you have no power at the light sockets, check at both sides of Fuse #40 - this is probably the most likely cause.

I had the exact same problem last week, every light on drivers side was out, I would keep working with the fuse box, so far thats where just about all of my electrical problems have been. Make sure you test the fuses also, I had a few that were no good even though you could see nothing wrong.

I'd start at the other end... if all your marker lights on one side are out and you have other unrelated lighting issues - the common point for all these is the Central Electric panel connectors and the lamp control module... do also check fuses etc first - but this probably doesn't explain everything.
Check connectors T, S, O & P on the CE panel & the plug on the Bulb Control unit (above the LH/EZK) Unplug these and look at the connectors - any corrosion?
With marker lights on do you have power on CE panel connector pins O15 & S24?
(O15 is the top connector on the left side on Plug O, S24 is the 4th connector up on the right side of Plug S).
If not - do you have power on the upper connector of fuse 40 (probe into the terminal hole on the back of the fuse wiuth it still in place) - do you have power on the lower terminal too?

Thanks guys!
I got them back on.
No real idea what I did. Traced lines... found nothing. Took the screws out of the fuse box/relay board and was going to pull it out to inspect the lines in the back to the fuses... and lights came on dimly. So I swapped the light assemblies side to side. Now they were both nice and bright. So swapped them back... and all is well.
Hmmm. Maybe there was a pinched wire behind the fuse box? So I made sure there was nothing... from what I could feel... pinched when I screwed the box down and lights are now all working well.
Wish the gremlin would go some where else!
Thanks for the help
