Does anybody make headlights that WORK that can fit where the driving and fog lights go?
I would delete mine if I could find a way to see at night.
Man that looks good, like a flat nose.

I can tell you that Euro Fog lights are pretty impressive. I have standard S4 fogs on my race car and could probably get them past the inspectors since they don't measure the height or the intensity. Now would they actually work to see anything at night...probably be MARGINAL at best!

Interesting. On the other hand, it creates a longer throw, which could make for a slightly longer shift? Perhaps unconsequential, but for me, I hate a long throw. Miata quick is the way I prefer it.
But I can see what you're saying about keeping your hands on the wheel as much as possible.

You should see the shifter in my car, you could understand how lengthening the throw wouldnt really be that bad of a thing.
That is from 2nd - 3rd gear. Short enough for you
Actually you can chat with some of the other PACNW group who saw my shifter (was a tiny bit longer then) last year at spokane. They can all tell you it is crazy short and the driving instructor couldnt find ANY gears, I had to shift for him. But I also had a completely cooked ball cup bushing that was adding throw in there too.

I am planning on loosing the pop ups on my 81, I will be removing the fog/driving lights and mounting a hi/low HID projection lens in there stead. This will require abit of modification though.

Constantine: I have sent an email to the contact on the website. I referenced this thread also. Let's see, what we can learn!
Me and joking about serious technical things?
Never in my wildest dreams...
No clutch shifting? Can you explain why and how one would do this? Wouldn't this wear the cogs like crazy?

Tighter ratios ultimately lead to a faster car as you stay closer to peak power. Presumably if it's a full on race box it has dog synchros so you can do no clutch shifting as well. Those two things are very useful in a race car. For a track car they are just nice to have.

And / or it's a sequential gearbox like the GT3 has.
Yes you can safely shift a synchromex box without a clutch, it's not really a good idea and usually to do it safely it's not a fast process.

Did you ever see Ken's projector beam setup on his old white auto (I forget what year it was). But Ken crafted some cool "lenses" and mounted the projectors behind it. I saw it up close and it looked pretty good. I'm sure there's some pics of it somewhere.

Good news: I received a wonderful response from Burghard und Sebastian (BSmotorsport)!
Their most important goal was to shift weight to the middle of the car. They used a 968 Turbo RS gearbox, combined with a single disc "Sintermetal" clutch. Making this work required a lot of aluminum welding. Because the engine had been moved back by 12cm and also lowered by 12cm, the original torque tube and bell housing no longer fit. The shifter rods have been nodified also.
They will try to take some detail pictures of the modifications. In the meantime, attached are a few pictures of the car in action, and of the interior.
Enjoy!

HI Nicole,
Turbo 968 gearbox?! Talk about rare, how in the world did they find that? The gear box alone must have cost more than most people spend on buying a whole 928!
Can't wait for the more detailed pics underneath the car, I wonder how much custom work they did on the TT.
Can you also ask them some details about their engine build up? Like how are they controlling the known engine oiling issues, 2/6 rod bearing failures, any intake mods, exhaust system, size of motor, engine internals and engine output?
Looks like a lot of custom work was also done with changing the pedals and moving the electrical system into the passengers seat area.
You can tell they did not scrimp when they put this monster together. Nicely done. Love this kind of stuff!
Thank you for finding and sharing Nicole and please keep it coming,

I have a feeling that this is the original car built by Porsche in 1990 to compete in the GT cup. It used to be run by RDM Racing and now sold to BSMotors... I will be at the Nurburgring in May so I would try and talk to the father & son and get their secrets out...
Overall, a very nice built. I wish I can get mine to be as good as this one and still be street legal...
