Just remember when patching your rear, the crack in the middle aids in body movement, and you have to make sure to leave a hole for your exhaust!

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Stage one, 400 sanding then look for low spots, a little filling and a little more primer as required. I know for sure I don't want to paint cars for a living

Use a guide coat to find the low spots. It will make your life easier. I would do a 600 grit wet sand with the next go round. 400 grit scratches can show through.

How much did your 3M Dynamic Mixing set-up cost? Is there enough time saved, and convenience offered by using it instead mixing filler the old fashioned way? What brand of paint/primer are you using?

You need to ask 928tt it's his toy, if you do a lot of body work it would be a real time saver!

I can't wait to see her finished. If it's anything close to the pics I saw of Mark's car you will have a show stopper!

Are you doing most of the prep (block sanding)?

I"m the stripper and sander and have the fingers to prove it! It's a lot of work and I am a little too **** on this so it's taking a long time! I have sanded things that did not need sanding per 928tt, he is my mentor, I am the flunky in this project.

Has anyone stripped the paint from the bumper covers? My track project has a cheap re-spray over the factory paint and I'd like to strip it away before applying new paint.

Tampa 928s, how did you guys handle the bumpers?

ok, thanks. with the multipul coats of paint on the bumpers I'd prefer to eat away the upper coats with a chemical stripper first and sand second which sounds like it's am option
