It's very easy to ruin the rubber all the backing and edges are exposed. It sands pretty easy, better safe then sorry.

damn... ok, so you think definately sand it down. How about getting the paint out from the recessed 'Porsche' on the back bumper? Sanding for that also?

You can use some lacquer thinner to remove the sticky stuff. I would order a set of replacement letters they look better then the original.

Pecan and walnut shell is the correct matter for stripping plastic bars, you can't beat it, it is a somewhat complex matter to get the right material but there you are.

This may be a little OT but I was reading an old issue of Excellence last night and they made mention of media blasting a car with dry ice. Has anyone here done that, heard of that and in what instances is this the prefered method.

Thanks

Know you know what goes into a good paint job. The spraying is a tiny part of the process and is the least amount of work. Don't give up yet. There will be more sanding to do after the paint goes on.

Once its painted and all put back together you will be so proud of it. That color is going to P-O-P !!!

Does anyone want to show up and help out for the painting party this Sunday, we could use the help! Besides Mark needs to show off his skills live and in person.

I wasn't trying to minimize the importance of an experienced painter. What I was saying is that the hard manual tedious labor is in the prep work. The spraying is much less strenuous ( labor wise ) but requires a skilled hand. With a little guidance, most people can do their own prep and body work. The painting takes a long time to master.

The car looks stunning, but my camera is having issues so the pictures will have to wait. Mark did a terrific job and can't wait to get things back together.
