What are you doing on the race track? I thought farm killings were the national pastime in South Africa these days?

So am I going to be the first one to point out that the 993 was in front

Great photo, and great looking car. Here's to hoping you get some more power and next time we won't be able to see the 993 at all behind your shark .

Ok Pierre, thanks. So a Euro S engine..... not much possibilty of more power from that unit. Unless you put a blower on it...

It is great looking car though - I love those rear arches !

And this has what to do with 928's?

Awesome photo - always liked your homegrown bodykit, reminiscent of the late 80's Strosek kit only a bit more organic and curvy.

Great picture and good story. Keep at it and you'll outlast the little fish.

Not sure what Pierre already has but what about 5.0L bottom block, headers, Larger TB, Headwork, improved ignition and of course bigger cams. JME has cam grinds (8SR-14) rated for up to 230hp on a NA 944 engine that will work well for the 928. There's still some power left to be had in a Euro S.

Love the Pic!! It's n screen saver rotation now.

If you need more HP !you should call Mark Anderson at 928 International. I know he has two 600hp gt engines he might sell, if the price is right.

Disagree - the 928 engine has a lot of power left on the table in any spec... Look at drnick's car, admittedly GTS-engined, which you had the pleasure of mapping recently. All it has is a race exhaust, Elgin cams, intake spacer and a dry-sump, and is already well beyond 400Bhp on the crank...

Pierre, I may have some hotter cams for sale later on, you can bump up the power, without massive cost, still not that cheap. With a 4.7 I achieved more power than a GTS engine. With the 5.0 litre version I was around 50 more than the GTS. Depending on the dyno around 380 to 400 hp at the crank. You will need to upgrade the exhaust.

I also have some other parts such as heads, which have seen a lot of development and can flow 550 hp of air at peak cam lift, they are for sale at the moment but will not be at the end of the year. I have the parts to make a 5.35 litre or even a 5.5 litre if you are the type that just needs to fiddle with things. I would hope that engine can put out over 420 hp. I am sure it will it will be over 400 hp and if all the parts work well you may see 450 hp.

I posted a GTech run on this board with the 5.0 litre engine, between 50 to 100 mph my car was quicker than the current GT3RS, also I wiped 10 seconds off the 0 to 200 kph time and my car is not a stripped out racer if that gives you an idea of what can be achieved.

Greg

That little 993 left you on the straights? what kind of 993 was it. a 993 cup car is pretty evenly matched to a gutted S4 with a set of headers. Looks like this car is fairly stock, or is it a turbo? That extra 50hp I got with the stroker was sure handy. I'm now giving the Comp Coupe Vipers fits!

All you need to do is drop a 5L or 5.4liter under the euro stuff. If Scot can get 290rwhp out of a 5 liter with Ljet, im sure you can make 20-30hp more than that with bottom end, and some cams.

Great shot by the way!

That little 993 left me for dead down the straights, but I gave him hell in the corners, tried to intimidate him left right and centre, but he kept his head. Once I tried to pass him around the outside in a hairpin (i think that's where this pic was taken), but he eventually got away from me.

After that I got involved in a titanic battle with his mate in a 997 GT3 Cup car and gave him hell too. At one spot I was tucked under his rear wing, waved at him when he checked where I was in his mirrors and he cracked and let me through! I went ha-ha-ha but just as I thought I had him the bastard came blasting past me down the back straight BWAAAA...

I need more HP, just an extra fifty ponies or so, so I can give these guys some serious ****. Be that as it may, I had a blast and enjoyed the racing. And I'm really starting to enjoy the car now...

Cheers,
Pierre.

I have the same problem but mine isn't even making close to that amount...I am probably more like 250 at the crank... yuck! Not to mention my auto box weighs in 100lbs more than a 5spd and is less flexible... You should see the pack fly away from me when the green flag flies! YIKES!
