I'm interested. It would be great to have a long lasting belt!

Figures, I just finished putting on a nice new standard gates belt. I guess you guys get to stress test it a bit before I'm due again.

Where do you buy the regular Gates belt if they are cheaper than the Conti @ Porsche?

I should seriously get one of those. I don't remember when the factory tensioner on my car was rebuilt...

That seemed unacceptable for a <$10 part! We worked with Gates to produce a Kevlar reinforced hose that was essentially a lifetime of the car part. Probably increased the price of the car by <$5 vs the typical rayon reinforced hose.
Ever wonder why the upper radiator hoses of the cars in the '70's and '80's frequently failed, while todays cars (at least our 928's) essentially never fail? Our hoses are reinforced with Kevlar!
I'll be there to buy w racing belts for the next changes - in late 2010 (and maybe at least one Porkensioner).

Looks like a few on the Bird forum are taking the reins and trying to get in on the game too. Russ is trying to get some new cam gears made by those that produce NASCAR stuff. Wonder how that is going to work out.

Just concluded a deal with Gates to produce the 928 "Racing" belt.
Specs to follow and production volume within about 8 weeks.
Prices will be announced once I know the "drum" quantities that they can manufacture.

They will be available to all providing you meet the min quantities - not exclusive
Thought it would be interesting to note the date of the post above March 18, 2009!

Roger thanks for your perserverence. It must be maddening for things like this when 8 weeks turns into 54 weeks.
