Unhappy Iris Blue 93 GTS Parting out

Nationwide Auto RecYcling is parting out what remains of my 'Dream Car' I think I am gonna be sick. The parts are all over EBay now and I can't hardly look at the pics...grey interior..lots of stuff.. I guess that is where that 5sp box comes from . Massachuusetts, I think, hold on gonna puke again...wonder what happened that such a rare example of our passion ends up at the scrapper...just needed a new home

I saw that too, wonder what happened to it. Maybe it was accident damaged beyond repair. The ads show it was really low mileage.

Thanks for the links, I read them w/ great sorrow..before I caught on to rennlist by about a month. $ 12,000 also seems like a sad # when it comes to a stellar example of a 928 GTS even w/ a blown engine. Maybe I will not need to donate a kidney if I keep looking. Yeah I remember looking at that listing even before I got my 88 S4, then it sold at Barrett Jackson for $36k and then it got destroyed, then the economy got destroyed..what's next...LOCUSTS ???

Its a shame somebody didn't just but a boosted S4 motor in it.

+1! This is just sad- I would have paid far too much money for that car in one piece. Hell, I have a spare GT motor sitting right here. Begs the question of how badly the front frame rails were tweaked if the hit was hard enough to crack the girdle. The '89 that my GT motor was in was hit hard enough in the front to dimple the edge of the PS pump pulley, and the frame rails were bent enough that we couldn't drop the motor out the bottom.

honestly I do not care about the GTS performance, the S4 is already plenty for me, but I really like the flares on the back, it improves the look of the car from the back significantly, at list to me.

LOL

I thought this way too when i just had my GT, but the GTS is just the next evolution. Its not JUST the fenders, not just the body colored rear spoiler, or the rear bumper cover, or the mirrors, or the brakes or the 5.4L engine. Its ALL THESE THINGS. Its got some engine issues for sure, but for me (someone that can fix those engine issues) it is far and away more car then a GT or S4. Is it really worth 2-3x what an S4 is, honestly no, but even GTS's are in the basement right now. Which makes it a great time to be a buyer.

I have a lot of the interior and some of the mechanically interesting bits.
The PSD is already in another GTS.
The center console is destined for another 94 GTS.
The parts will live on even if it should not have been parted in the first place.

Thanks Roger, you are right.. as long as the components carry on and are not just trashed/crushed/etc it is kinda like signing your organ donor card.. and thanks again for the bearings..leak free flappy shaft now. Hopefully will be doing intake reassembly tomorrow. Kevin
