Any Motorcycle Riders Here?

I too, don't wish the thread to end, but it needs contributions...
While I can't add much without questions or statements I can answer to, I have a question, which may be outside the particular thread here:
Does anyone know a business that mandrel bends tubing? I need an exhaust pipe made, for my oldest bike.

Stan,
Unfortunately, every one of the local exhaust shops do not seem to use mandrel benders...... They use tubing benders, which, unfortunately, put kinks in the bends, or flaten the bends, so that the tube is no longer uniform in cross section, even to the point of creating a "D" shaped cross section. Very ugly on a bike....

OK Stan,
Yes, I know about those; a local nationally known race biz [should I mention them?], can supply me with "mandrel bent 'U's", even in stainless, but that will not supply me with a pipe, with multiple compound bends.
I need a pipe that is called, as far as I know, a sheep's hook, with smooth transfers from one diameter bend, into another diameter bend.
There are cheap copies made of these types of pipes, but other than the initial 'hook' bend coming out of the exhaust port, the rest of the bends are pretty sharp and sudden, connected with straight sections. No swoop or flow to them.... Often not conforming to the path taken by the original, even protruding out into the wind stream much farther than wanted.... Leading to the possibility of burnt leg syndrome.... Let alone getting smashed in narrow passages...
Yes, I suppose the easiest pipe to make, would be a down pipe, I've even ordered one from Armours in ol' blighty, but it doesn't fit, they won't take it back, nor refund my money. And, it doesn't have the swoop and flow of an original pipe, rather sharp bends, and straight sections.... Useable, if it would have fit up correctly....
The end of the muffler, if I could have fit the muffler onto the pipe, would have been below ground level. And, outboard of the correct line along the side of the bike, by 6, SIX inches!!!!
Malcolm,
It's my '48 AJS, a 500cc single.
