the 928 block isn't so heavy, could've used a custom crank to fix oiling issues, custom whatever if it was being built from scratch to fix all the bad OEM habits.
still, a crate motor seems like it'd be an easier choice, unless they just didn't want any cheby parts in there to justify the price... "yes it's a supercar, only super car parts in there", hahaha

how in the heck can you tell. Obviously some kind of custom mount at the flywheel bell housing area, and after that, all you can kind of see is where the CV joints attach, right?

Sorry to dissagree, but I reckon that it is a 928 gearbox, 911 Gearboxes in this installation have the gearbox behind the driveshafts, as I recall. Also I'm curious about the advertised horsepower, 617 hp, I see no evidence of intercoolers, I would expect you would some sort of charge cooling for that sort of output.
