I did some digging around the forum, does the 1992 GTS also has those two inline fuses, and could that be the problem. I will have a look at them tomorrow.

No & No

What happens when you press the cental lock button with the ignition on.

Does it lock unlock both doors or just the passenger door?

Assuming the passenger door only you just have a pre-existing condition - the drivers lock actuator is either disconnected or malfunctioning...

You will need to diagnose that - its nothing to do with the keyless entry - unless you disturbed a connection to the alarm/locking/interior lighting module when connecting it all up...?

Thanks Alan,

I found the problem, the keyless entry is working perfectly, the problem as you pointed out is the drivers lock, if you unlock the door with the remote, you can actually see if moving up a few millimeters, but not fully, you also hear the actuator making noise, so probably something is blocking it somehow. So I will take the door panel of tomorrow and have a look

Does this work the same for an 85 Euro I would like to add an alarm and keyless entry while it's in pieces. Any recommendation as to what model to use?

I have 1992 GTS, I think on a 85 Euro it is a bit more complicated. Have a look at the following link, if you scroll down a bit there is a diagram thats show how to do it for an 88.

An alarm is a more complicated proposition than a keyless entry. However as Hans points out - even keyless entry is different by year and an '85 is a little more complex than a GTS.

Look for the article on the '88 KE for Paul Champagne - your '85 is similar.

For alarm I belive you should be able to add the stock factory alarm (just a plug in) or use the connector for it to find most of the signals you will need for triggering an aftermarket alarm.

I needed to have an immobiliser fitted to my '88 S4 - it's a condition of licensing & it must be fitted by a licensed installer.

I told the installer to add KE at the same time (minimal extra cost).

When I went to pick it up, they told me that they couldn't fit KE.

Why?

'See, when we hit the central locking switch with the passenger's door open, the driver's side lock button goes down and then comes straight back up. That means the actuator is missing.'

I ran.

Sound like they are bunch of cretins who don't want to have to figure out how to do it... its easily possible many have done it. the factory alarm provides for imobilization - why not just get the stock module & plug it in - as far as I know ROW models have the connector. Then you can tell them the car has the authentic factory alarm (can they complain about this?).

You can easily add KE yourself or find someone who can follow the simple directions...

BTW you do not add keyless entry by screwing with the central lock button wiring - it doesn't even work to unlock the car when the ignition is off...

I recently installed a Commando in my '91 GT. Today I noticed that when locking the car with the FOB and both windows down, the passenger window comes up a little (1/2 inch). This happens whenever the car is locked. I tapped into pins 2 (ground), 3 (bus 30), 6 (bus 15), 8 (signal left), 9 (signal right) and 10 (horn) on Connector I and pins 1 (lock) and 2 (unlock) on Connector II. I don't see any power window connections on the alarm brain schematic for the GT/GTS, so how is this happening?

Try turning your key into the lock position and holding it while the windows and sunroof are open...

Now you may wish to change your KE configuration so it will send a continuous lock pulse for as long as you hold the fob button - to enable the same feature remotely. Right now you lock pulse is just long enough to start this feature but then ends...

My commando is configured to do this - most KE's can do it..

BTW this only applies to '90+ vehicles.

Hmm, how did you manage this? Looking through my KE-30 manual I can't see anything that would enabled this for the lock button:

http://www.commandoalarms.com/CS30manual.pdf

In fact, holding the lock button for more than 3 seconds activates panic mode. Did you use Channel 3 for this? If yes, can I just connect the channel 3 wire to the lock wire, or do I need a diode as well?

My KE is an older model with 4 buttons - one being a dedicated panic button: lock/unlock/panic/programmable(hatch).

Thus my system can configure for continuous lock mode on lock button - I guess your 3 button version can't. However you can use the channel 3 button and I'd expect you can just connect this to the lock output without a diode (these are unidirectinal - open drain/open collector - outputs, so don't mind being connected together).

I have a seperate output for the double pulse unlock mode that I use as an alternate way to open the hatch (click unlock twice: get doors unlocked & hatch open). In this case too the unlock & channel 2 outputs can just be connected together.

I don't have a commando sysyem, but on mine I set the continuous vs. pulse by programming it. Might want to look there.
