Beware of Sears Automotive - Slightly Off Topic

Jerome Jerome, you fought fate and that's why you're so grumpy.
You knew the tech would botch it, that's why you mentioned it a half dozen times. You tried to convince yourself that you could fight fate with mere words.
Now you're more mad at yourself for not listening to your head! Denial is hard.
You have to move to acceptance. AFter yelling at everyone at Sears, of course, because that makes us all feel better, and its damn good entertainment for the rest of us.
MY volvo dealer gave me the code for free when I zotzed my wife's radio. I think you should bitch out Mitsu for charging for it, too.

I'd take my original receipt back to the Mitsu dealer and tell them that you already paid $75 once and they were supposed to write the code on your receipt...and didn't. They owe you the code. (I'd leave the bulging veins at home.)

I immediately wrote this code on my owners manual, so just in case.
It's been a few years so I don't remember the forum but I am sure quick search will yield results.
I know you don't want to hear this, but you should have secured that code somewhere to retrieve at a later date. Especially since you paid for it before.
Lessons learned.

Pull the radio, the code should be there on the bracketry somewhere on a label. Have had to do this with many cars here. Also I am picturing my friend Jerome freaking out at sears! Man I would have paid the bill to see that. For anyone who doesn't know Jerome, he is a laid back dude that doesn't look for trouble as I have had a few dealings with him. The smartass that left the "wine wine bitch bitch" comment would **** his panties if he had to say that in Jerome's presence. I'd also gladly pay to see that!

I don't think we can generalize about every Sears center or the OP.
But what did we learn ? At the end of the day, what can we take away from this post ? I got a few things, are there any more technical observations ?

Let me clarify. A few years ago, I got badly burned in a business deal. My FIL nailed me with the what did we learn speach. It was an opportunity to revamp my bookeeping and billing. So far, it has worked well for me.

I'd be happy they didn't try to keep the power going the entire time and accidently hook up 24v to the entire system. As others said you paid for the code once you shouldn't have to pay again. Just show them your receipt from the first time. These charges can easily be waived if you just ask to see the manager.

Wine wine bitch bitch..... Your wife should kick your *** for your lack of research and picking the worst place possible to work on your wife's car. It is your job to make the right decissions with regards to her health and well being. Proper car repairs falls into the category of her well being. So now that you learned your lesson, go out and find the right shop with a good reputation and get her car fixed. You should be very embarrassed about screwing up on fixing your wifes car and then telling the 928 world about your short comings. MAN UP FOR GODS SAKE
