Default Relocating to N. CA Sacramento

New work is taking me to Sacramento, CA area in April 09.

Good Mechanics there for a 928?

PCA active DE and Autocross?

Leave the car behind, or bring it along?

needing motor mount job, tranny fluid leaks (hoses), and belt tensioner work? Belt good condition, but light comes on in heavy acceleration ?? Belt only has 25K on it and looks good. 88 AT

If you bring your own wrenches we have the Incredible Mr. Bill Ball and joining him is Jolly Jim Morton.

http://www.norcal928.org is your friend for mechanics, or you can use mine @ http://www.eurocartech.com/

Cheers,
Andre

Bring the 928 100%

NO worries....we have a great norcal 928 crowd & there are local shops that do good work on 928's..... We the right bribes....you can get the traveling 928 mechanic to do house calls!! (but not this thursday he's at MY house)

PCA is active in both DE and Autox....and there are a more than a few 928ers that attend a bunch of DE's over the year.....

I would say that norcal is one of the most active "928" regions....with LA, greater Dallas and green bay.....

I had this symtom on my '88. Turned out the belt was like new but the tensioner and one of the roller's was bad. Had I continued to run it, the friction would have shredded the belt at some point.

Hell, you can't throw a dead cat and not hit a 928 here in NorCal.

You'll be joining a great crowd. Welcome !

Welcome to Sacramento. Be sure to let us know when you arrive. I'm located in Elk Grove. There's enough of us around to be able to fix most anything. And don't forget, you will get to meet the famous giant Mexican of Rennlist, aka 95Juan!

But the "Mexican Sasquatch" still can't eat as many tacos as the tiny asian man...."Tacoquiro Tom".....

OK, The relocators will tow it over for me, and I will let you all know when I am around. Suggestions to toughen up my knuckles so I don't shred em up while wrenching?? And a priority on the new home will be a bigger garage since the misses suggests she have room in the garage too, not just the shark....

Your lucky.....home prices are VERY cheap right now......you can find a nice place with a 3 car garage for less than 1/2 of what it was just a few years ago...

And what is that in US dollars? I used to live out there ( Benicia in the bay area) in 98 and 99. I loved it. It's the most beautifull part of the U.S. that I have ever seen. I just couldn't afford to buy a home. From what I remeber, Sac is hot. Alot hotter than the surrounding areas. If you haven't settled on a specific home yet, maybe investigate the micro climates in the area. You will thank me later.

BTW, the people couldn't be nicer in Nor Cal. You should enjoy it there.

For what its worth, the weather in Stockton with the delta waterways tends to be cooler than Sacramento...not by much, but you can feel it since we tend to get more of the "delta breeze" than Sac does....however in general the whole central valley is hot from late May to September..... But the AC in the 928's works really good!!
