Default Polished 7-Slots

I'm thinking, in these credit crunching times, to maybe just get my current 7-slots polished up to a mirror finish, instead of buying new wheels. I've seen some people's profile pictures with them on, and was wondering if anyone had some bigger pictures?
Cheers
Simon

You'll save money on wheels but there may be a degree of grief involved in finding good 16 inch performance tires.

I has a decently new set of Continentals on them at the moment, do you get these tyres in the states? Would you struggle here in England just as much?

Not exactly sure about the Contis. I have noticed over the past year though, people saying their former favorite tire is no longer available in 16".

Yes, the selection of performance 16" tires seems to be drying up. I was just pricing some tires for the track and they were quite a bit cheaper in 17" (even though the rears were wider) than in 16". I may have to give in and buy a set of bigger wheels.

The slotted wheels have a hard anodized finish and real hard to polish. You need to pay to dismount the tyres and have them chemically stripped down to raw aluminium. Then they can be polished and will shine well for a while but raw aluminium immediately starts to oxidize. Every few months they may need a bit of touch up by hand with metal polish.
