Default Short Shifter Question...

Are there any WYAIT projects a person should do when installing a short shifter?

Not from the top side, but the ball cup at the front and the rear assembly from underneath.

Have Paul Champagne recover your shifter boot, kinda stretch for WYAIT, but that's what I did.

Lube the forward shift bushing; it's easier to get to from the top than the bottom.

Thank you all for the advice, I will do as you suggest, and Sharkskin, thank you for the great pic. Helps to get a close up look at it before I jump in there.

No problem. Lots more pics here if you want to see what the whole linkage looks like.

Definitely consider doing the ball cup from underneath while you have the top linkage free. If it hasn't been done you may actually disconnect it during the short shift installation....speaking from experience.

They can rattle like a son of a gun without new bushings and lube.
