That video sucked.
That music sucked.
The only thing I saw was a dirty engine bay, and ugly interior, and 50 pictures of a rollcage.
Lame.
It probably CAN'T run. They just mounted it in there.

E39 M5 doesn't have steering rack like 928 does. Largest problem in installing M5 V8 into 928 is where to find room for both rack and oil pan. Easiest way around this is to also use M5 steering but this still leaves problem of missing sipport under the engine. In any case swap is not as easy as it might seem, V8 swapped into another V8, job is much more complex than that. Swap is certainly doable but without further proof I will no believe its fully functional.

I want to see a Mitsubishi Turbo motor in a 928.
600+ rwhp is a piece of cake with those engines.

waste of a video...
I'd put this in....
I wonder if Renegade Hybrids in town here has an adapter plate yet. I assume its very similer to the other LS engines where it mates to the driveline.
Be a fun motor in a 914!

Other than 'because you can' which is sometimes a valid enough reason in and of itself, I'm not really sure why people feel compelled to swap a different brand engine into a 928... 10 years ago thats a completely different story when there wasn't much in the way of aftermarket performance or reliability mods available for the enthusiast. But now one can relatively cheaply and easily build up a 928 motor to the point where the limiting factors are traction and clutches... With various forced induction options, strokers, 5 liter screamers, Porkensioners, oil management systems, why go a more expensive route and put a bimmer or gm motor in and kill the $ value of the car to boot?

Maybe they are going to run the car in a race series with a maximum engine displacement - no boost either.
An off the shelf 4.4 liter BMW motor is going to make more power for the money then a punched out 4.5 liter 928 engine.

In my opinion, Nissan VK56DE will turn out to be one of the best engines for engine swaps down the road. That engine is trick as it is, and the Nissan Titan crowd is developing the aftermarket parts for it. A complete engine with 17k miles on with 200+ compression in each and every single cylinder will fetch about $2.5k, which makes this really attractive. The engine holds 1000hp+ in FI marine applications.
Someday if my budget allows, I plan on dropping a C4-ZR1 Corvette motor into a 928

600whp on street gas that will last a long time too.................
A LS9 crate motor would be interesting in a 928.....but really a LS7 is more than enough motor......for much less $$$$
keep in mind the M5 engine they used is the 5.0L V8...not the V10...so its the 394hp-367?torque motor...... Which I'm sure could be pumped up pretty easy....but so can the 928 motor, without the cost of the conversion.....
Seriously if you are going to do a BMW M V8....the S65 4.0L is the way to go.....414hp stock in a 400lb-ish motor with only a 98 bore spacing so it is VERY short...I would guess 4 inches shorter than the 928 V8......so it could be mounted way further back....the only bummer is its a high RPM screamer...so you would want at least a 2.72 tranny or even the ultra rare 3.09 rear end
