Default Broken coil grd wires

I've started the valve cover R&R project and noticed that the ground wire for the DS coil is broken.

I suspect given the rusty colour of the broken wire its been this way for sometime.

How would this condition affect the ignition system if at all? Appreciate comments:

Malcolm,
It depends on the condition of the other engine grounds.
If all good maybe no effect at all - if all bad not worky.

thx Roger.

I forgot to add one VC short bolt to the current shipment............I now need at least 2 as another got a litle rounded when attempting to remove. I've only tackled the 'easy' DS so far so before we make another care parcel lets wait until I get the pass. side uncovered.

BTW..........with the DS VC off all looks in great health; the cam chain tensioner pads and the chain are in excellent shape. Given the added work to replace the chains I may just do the pads and all the gaskets.

I've no idea how I'll torque the lower VC bolts on assembly; its tight down there,

Porsche didn't put it there because they felt the need to spend more money, but it is a common thing to find. I feel "funny" if I don't have at least two of them in stock, at all times.

Understand that there was engineering logic and shall replace accordingly just wanted to understand what symptoms may occur with the broken wires.............I assume the DS broke when the MMs failed, the engine dropped and was rocking on the X-member.
