JDS Spanner or Bosch Hammer In Raleigh/Durham NC area
Fellow NC Shark owners,
I was considering buying a JDS Spanner to do some testing on my 88 S4. However, I wanted to check first if there was anyone in the area that could loan/rent one to me? I would of course also pay any shipping.
I've been talking to John Speake, and with the current exchange ratio, the price for a new one is actually very good, and there is no doubt it is worth it, but it is not a tool that I would use everyday. Therefore it may not be the best use of my "discretionary funds " ( i.e. don't require wife review).
However, if there is not one available, is there a demand for one? I could justify buying one if other area drivers need to use one.
Let me know, and thanks in advance.

But, I am sure if you stopped by he would hook it up and run a quick diag. for a fair fee, if not for free.

Brad is a good guy, and he has done a fair amount of work on my 928. I'm sure he would run a diagnosis.
However, its not like I could sit around his garage and test a bit, tinker a bit, have a beer, test a little, fix a little, learn a little, have a beer, repeat as necessary.
If my car was not running, I would have it to Brad as quick as I could tow it, but as I am just curious to see if my knock sensors need doing now, or can wait until my planned intake refresh, and to check and make sure anything else is not subtly off kilter, I'd rather do it at home. Its more fun, and I learn A LOT more.
