Actually, PET shows an accumulator for the 82 model, part # 918 110 197 03. Not that PET is always the most accurate. I have experienced the alarm-no start issue as well on an 86. That ensued when the "bearing" (inside piece) of the door handle on the passenger side broke.

Angry Wow...

I wake up to a ton of responses..

Ok..I'll narrow it down this way:

Dbrown928 - bad fuel accumulator (Will check tonight)

Tveltman - Mower is a 4 cycle, not oil/gas mix. (CE Panel removal scheduled for this weekend)

LandSeer- Green wire was purchased this year from 928gt. Thermotime switch is 5 years old (will test/replace), no teflon tape installed on either thermo/temp II. I have jumpered FP relay (30/87) and ig relay ( 30/87/87a).

Cap and rotor was cleaned and rotor ohm out ok. Now the cap does look ok, but the middle carbon spring is cracked.

Alarm - I dont think I have one, checked for relay above glove box. But will check other areas you suggested by hatch lock.

14pin connector was taken out, inspected and cleaned/protected with DeOXIT.

Timing Marks.. I will post add'l pics of cam marks and TDC.

Ben- "You can test relay pin 87 by unplugging the L-Jet harness, turn ignition key and check for 12V at pins 10 and 29 on the L-Jet connector"- Yes, this test fine.. seems like I need to remove the CE Panel and take a look around.

Thanks to everyone for your patience and suggestions!!

Sorry its been so long..life kinda stepped in the way!

Tested old and new ignition switch .. same results rumble, stumble and die. Installed NEW cap/rotor, re-verified wires, removed and clean plugs..removed CE panel and cleaned infamous hidden grounds..recleaned injector grounds on passenger cam..installed new thermotime switch.

I started the car and only got the rumble, stumble only *once* while cranking..other cranks after that and the car just spins, (kinda like when u remove the FP relay). I reinstalled the old thermotime and rumble, stumble and die on muti-cranks. Hmmm?? Should I investigate timing w/new thermotime switch?? Oh.. I also jumpered the thermo time plug and tried cranking and the car acts the same as with the new thermo switch installed.

All of the above tests are done with FP and FI (AFC) relays jumped! I've also attached pics of my CE panel, timing marks and two wires from lock in trunk (alarm??). Also havent check fuel accumulator yet. Thanks in advance!

Connect a voltmeter to the coil as in "Test 6" here. Does the voltage remain present from "Key On" -> Start -> Rumble -> Die?

Also run through the troubleshooting steps to see if you may have missed anything important. I posted this link before but I don't see any mention of you having performed the steps.
