I have the reverse red, so there is less available brightness. Good point for those considering the "brighter" colors in the spectrum.

Jadz,
Any pix of your guages around. I would love to see both night and day shots.

I'll be driving the 87 which has the stock guages.

I went for this red thing in the 84... makes for stealth looking night driving.

V/r,

What you get from Speedhut is an overlay. You get 4 thin, die-cut faces. You stick them on top of your existing guages with double-sided tape.

Fabio's writeup and pics are the best to show what need to be done

Here's my old thread about the install

they only issue I saw when looking at these is that they wont really work for any 85+ auto as they all have the smaller tach with the little lights to tell you what gear you are in. So the range would be WAY off.
I wish they had the option for these cars.

Jadz, Sorry for the dumb question, but here is another...
With this install do you no longer need the bulbs and wedges at all? Do you still need them for the needles?
Thanks,

Wedges? You can still use the bulbs to illuminate the needles but they are not totally necessary because of the amount of light produced by the EL faces.

Thanks Fabio,
I was thinking of going with the reverse glo which I imagine throws alot less light.

You are right, esp in reverse red. I used red wedge bulbs and painted the needles silver. Work pretty well though there are a couple blind spots for the needles. If I were to do it again, I would get Nicole's LED dash kit instead of the wedges.

I emailed Speedhut today suggesting this would be a good time to have a special on these gauges. They run sales pretty often, so hopefully the will come through.
