Default CIS vacuum diagram (for newbie)

hi guys-

i just picked up a european '78 that was federalized w/ the air pump, cat. convertor. i'm doing a major service on it (wires, hoses, fluids, belts, etc., etc.) and have a question about the vacuum line routing. a couple of the vacuum lines were broken off and i want to confirm the correct routing and terminating points before i install the new ones.

i have an electronic version of the FWM, but it's mysteriously missing page 20-6- the page w/ the CIS hose diagram!!! could anyone direct me to a site that may have this posted? i've sifted through the archive here as well as on the internet and have found nothing. i have found plenty of other interesting info though!

any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance,

-robert

Ah, a federalized frankenshark. Those cars as a group are a mixed bag. there were many different federalization outfits, They did things differently and to differing quality standards. Only the outfit that did the federalization knows what they were thinking at the time. Does the car have EGR? If not, ignore items 11, 12, 13 on the US diagram.

As a starting point, here are the Euro and US hose diagrams from the Tech Spec Info I have on my site, which also has larger versions of the diagrams. Maybe it will help you figure out what they were trying to do.

Default ? On check valve

78 found air pump deleted and check valve that goes to back of heads had a rubber cap to block it off it was falling apart. Would this effect the vacuum on the engine?

No. Unless check valve is broke. Then yes.
Check valve allows air in, not out.
