Default Amusing ebay experience - 928worldwideparts

saw some used a/c hoses on ebay starting at 10 cents. Figure for 10 cents you can never have enough of these, so I bid with a max of $10.

The auction said pick up only, but the description said "we ship all our sales." So one quick email was answered with a "yes, we ship" response.

To my surprise, I won the hoses for 10 cents. Pinged him an email for the shipping costs, no response. Took a look at his ebay store and it looks like he packed up and went home.

He had tons of things listed for 10 cents with no reserves. Wonder how many other auctions went for 10 cents?

Its Mason - found here:

He's trying to make a go of parts selling - on other forums of course as he's not a sponsor here

He never answered any of my emails, so I never bought any of his stuff. He bought a 928, tried to sell mods for them despite knowing nothing about 928s. After he screwed the first one up, he bought a second and tried to become a dealer. Then when he couldn't sell either car be became a used parts salesman by disassembling both cars (and maybe more since he was selling 82 parts and the first 2 cars were 85/86). Now I guess business wasn't going well (or he has a new get rich quick scheme) so he's disappeared from ebay.

That is that Mason Fine guy who posts here sometimes as "surfridermason". He posts on Pelican and Reutter as Chesirugaree or some such nonesense. This is his M.O. I was high bidder on a late model 5 speed trans. w/ LSD one time. It was a no reserve auction and he pulled the auction because he didn't feel that the price was high enough. He is not someone I will ever do business with again. He likes to bad mouth the other 928 vendors. Poor form in my opinion.

Buyer beware!!

All warranties cover only the part and do not cover any labor charges or damage to other parts or components caused by our part. By installing our parts, you have accepted this warranty. Failure of any part due to misuse, improper installation, or impact is not covered under this warranty.
In order for us to process any warranty claim, Just call us for a Return Authorization Number-
and then send the part back. NOTE: USED MOTORS and TRANSMISSIONS (Not Rebuilt) ARE NOT INCLUDED IN OUR WARRANTY AT THIS TIME.

E-mail US Or Call (215) 768-5840 Monday through Saturday 8am-8pm Est

I wonder what happens if you have a warranty claim. His Ebay store is empty now. Hmmm? Strange. You should give him a call and ask about those A/C lines.

I'm really disappointed to learn his name is "Mason." When he posted I always pictured a guy in a fez with a surfboard strapped to one of those tiny little cars.

$.10 No shipping for you!

It sounds to me like 928 worldwide is more of an oxymoron than a supplier, but then again, I like my parts from known entities.

Nope, I confirmed with him before bidding that he would ship.

I kinda felt sad for him that I won this for 10 cents.

At $0.10 per part, I think I can understand why his business had to close shop.

If I remember correctly, his reasoning in this instance was that it was "shady" to set a reserve price through eBay, and much more upstanding to offer it and promote it as "no reserve" but cancel the auction if he didn't get the price he wanted.

HA HA yeah nice, its even less shady to just let the auctions go and take payment and never ship items.
