RKD-That car was practically in our backyard when it was for sale a few years ago (2004) in Wichita Falls, TX. I'm pretty sure someone elsewhere in Texas purchased it. I don't know whether or not it changed hands again before going to last year's B-J auction.

If I'm not mistaken, this car was originally imported to Canada. It has an ultra rare color combo: White over Lipstick Red interior w/sport seats. I drooled over it when it was for sale back in 2004, but didn't have the funds at the time (asking price was $27,500).

If it is as nice and well maintained as it appears, $22K would be a great buy IMHO.

Hi Roger! I didn't realize you hadn't seen the exterior shots. If the interior shot is all I had to look at, I would have thought it was a Euro as well.

Those particular cars are not on my list for my next 928. If I understand right, one also as to pay to register to bid, then pay a buyer's fee as well. Not sure what else other than move the car off the lot pretty quickly.

Does anyone know if they allow photos to be taken of the cars? No use lugging my camera around if the photo-cops are out. However, I've heard that there may be some photogenic sales assistants running around?

Euro GTS = Japanise model. Both are ROW and share same VIN sequence. It seems there weren't separate VIN for Japanise cars after '88 MY. Japanise cars just had those wheel opening extensions and cat converter temp sensor due to their home market demands.

Is GTS now in US or still in Canada? If in US its interesting that it doesn't have sidemarkers and black rear bumper blocks. Is it federalized at all?

Erkka,

We did not put side markers or bumperettes on my '92... TOTALLY easy to get them here w/o putting that crap on them... Kind of up to the RI...

If you filled up the space made by those fender flares then that might look ok, but w/o some wider front wheels (I wonder if you could fit the rear wheels up front and have a fully matched set of wheels/tires??? That would be nice) it looks like $hit... That rear thing is just stupid. I swear some gov. mandates are to stupid for words!

Interesting. I thought DOT safety ***** would have your compound surrounded under 5 minutes if you even think about not installing them.

Will not work as there is full stock fender underneath all intact. I still kind of like front extensions. They will at least cover some more 8" ET50ish wheels like Keskin Speedline replicas with 245 rubber which will fit but do look bad I think as they are right on the edge and wheel is in fact outside fender line.

I once owned an Aventura Grey '95 968. I can confirm that it is a very slick, very cool color. I was sorry to see this car go, but I couldn't get the 'hang of' the competition clutch that the previous owner had installed. I eventually replaced it with a '93 968. On this day, my '00 Boxster S showed up to crash the party. I tend to like green Porsches. It's not by accident that I also ended up with a 'Rock Green' 928 S4.

I hope the Aventura 928GTS goes to a good home.

Too bad they will not make the prime time show. It would be fun to hear Bevis and Butt-Head talk about the 928.

From what I understand, Barret jackson relies on the seller to describe the cars correctly and the buyers to be educated enough to pick up on any errors. This keeps them out of the fray if something is embelished.

As it should be - caveat emptor

If you didn't do the proper homework and paid $700,000 for a Hemi clone (you thought was real) it's your own damn fault.

Erkka,

Mine is not the only GTS in the US w/o the rear bumperettes... There is one in Kansas too...I think it is a '95 that came out of Italy.

Default Barrett Jackson 928s

Today, I checked out the Barrett Jackson 928s that will be going on the auction block this week. The S4 and GTS are in great shape (visually). If the drivetrain is as nice as the body and interiors, these would be nice 928s to own.

I didn't look the '82 over closely...but obviously, it's a nice looker,although the luggage wasn't in too great a shape.

You all were right. The Barrett-Jackson event is a zoo. But better than many car mueums though. And it's proof positive that one cannot have enough money.

A few pics below

The S4 is Rauschequarzmetalic. That is a pretty rare color and a favorite of mine.
