My name is Leslie. My husband's name is Kevin. We are jointly addicted to 928s, and my husband got me started.
It all started six years ago, when we were looking to buy a 4x4 SUV because our 1986 Chevy Caprice full sized station wagon was wearing out. We have two children.
We ended up somehow coming home with a 928, which my husband swore to me would be just fine with the kids, because it was "a four seater!"
And I smiled.
Time went on, and I became just as addicted to the style, speed, and handling of the 928 as he was. I finally did purchase an SUV, later on, but then got my own 928. After that, the truck spent most of its life in the driveway, because it was going to get me in an accident with its total lack of response. (Or so I told myself. )
And anyway it was boring being a soccer mom!
It was way cooler to pick up the kids in the shark.
Eventually, I practically gave that Dodge away, so I could submerse myself completely in my 928.
Today, the child who rides behind my husband when we all go out together must sit indian style in their seat, as their feet do not fit between the front and back seats to reach the floor, and both kids must contort themselves to squeeze in past the seats with the missing release buttons that don't lean forward, but we all love the 928s anyway, and wouldn't have it any other way. We are a 928 family. It's all we drive.

I'm not addicted, at least I don't think I am.. Although I did spend more time on the phone with Roger on Christmas than I did with my family. Excuse me I think I need to go call Roger again, I am sure there are a few more parts that need replacing while a I have a few free minutes. Besides look at all the money I am saving on labor..........

There are cheaper-faster cars "but none look as good as the 928"
neither point is pointedly true, though certainly possible.
Love this thread - Thank You Iceman!

All y'all definitely need help!
Personally, I've got no problem. Sure, I've owned 10 928s over the past 21 years, but that's only an average of about one every two years. And I've let go of SIX of them! How many people can say that ... even if two of those were to my brother (who still has them both in the DC area). If I had a problem, how could I have done that? Huh?
See, I can do it! I can quit any time I want.
No problem.
None at all.

My name is Russ. My name is also Dad. Sometimes my name is husband.
I am only addicted to anything that goes fast enough to get you in trouble, which is mostly everything I own.
I have two 928s, three engines, an extra transmission, and have managed to sell off two cars worth of parts to pay for my projects.
(and I have a real blonde attached to me........)

Oh, do we quantify our affliction by the number of spares?
Cuz....we have spares for our spares for our spares.....
(That's just one corner of the "spares" room, by the way. And yeah, the rest is just as bad.
We need a warehouse at this point. )
(PS, hey Mike, that fuse panel is in the back left corner there. I made a little room for you. Do you think you can wire up that light for us now? )

You decide...
Does being an addict mean that you spend too much money without thinking, then yes, I am he.
Life was good,
(i) I had three cars and a three car garage. No need to buy another,
(ii) Then I bought the shark- enough said.
(iii) but what's a guy to do when he needs more car space? Pay someone to move your retaining wall, build a new wall and fence, pour concrete, then move your old smelly jaguar to the newly created side of the house space.
At least, the 928 has it's own garage spot now.
Three months later, we are planning to buy another house, so I will waste more money to create enough space for these cars in our new place. I least the person who rents my house will be able to enjoy space for four cars...Quite a sickness indeed...
