Car Scars
We've all done it at some point or another - banged knuckles, scorched fingers, pinched thumbs or whatnot when working on the car.
I've gained a new one right on my hairline from whacking the front license plate after sitting up too fast on the mechanics roller this time around. I think that mark is permanent. Almost lost a finger with a trailer hitch incicent once, too.
What about anyone else? Sharin' the blood with the car must make us more as one, doesn't it?

I have a large gaping hole in my wallet, every time it heals I reopen it.
Still beats the hell out of stuffing $20's in some dancers thong though....

After removing the fan shroud, watch it working on the front of the motor, bent over the top of the radiator. Those tabs for fastening the fan shroud are dangerous. I had a wrench slip, and took one of those tabs deep into the forearm as I fell forward. Very slow to heal and nasty scar.

I still remember first blood. I was working on the cam covers and smashed my knuckles good. I felt like I had finally paid my first dues to the car as I watched my blood mingle with the oil.

That cat needs to know who's boss.
So far worst "scar" I've recieved courtesy of a 928 was a cobbled together 4 ton jack + 12mm studding and some angle iron used to press out the rear suspension pin, letting go and my ankle was in the way couldn't walk for three days and limped for about 2 weeks. Now I know better I'll just undo more stuff and force it all apart in a controlled manner.
I mean it about the cat though. Used to have a Devon Rex that would eat your cat as a side dish (given the inclination) showed it who was boss as a kitten about 4 weeks old, and thereafter (about 50% of the time) she knew where she stood in the heirarchy.

Many times when I go back into the house after working on my car my wife says "where is that blood coming from?" I'm so into what I'm doing I don't even realize I'm "WOUNDED".

Didn't shed blood on this one, but I almost yakked. My first excursion with my 80' ROW was changing the fuel pump. The clamp wasn't quite tight enough to keep the live fuel line from dumping about a half gallon of stale petrol in my mouth.
...no love from the wife after that one.

Honey Bunny always looks at me in terror, now, if I come indoors looking tired after working on the car. "Are you OK?" She has seen far too many of my 'incidents'.
By far the best/worst was back when I was Cadillac Ken. Tuning a 8.2L engine, I reached over, started it up, and flicked it into drive (wheels blocked) while standing on the passenger side with the door open. Unfortunately, it had sat too long, so the cold start kicked in and the car lurched forward. The 5 foot long door hits a post and closes on my leg. Fortunately, the car hit the open door of a shed right in front of the car, pushing the 10'x14' wooden shed of it's foundation, but stopping the car door from crushing my leg. It took 6 months for the bump/bone bruise to go away.

I was changing the fuel line from the pump to the filter when the wrench slipped and I whacked myself in the nose...............bled like I had just been blammed by a monster jab from Ali.
