Leslie,

Sorry I couldn't help you last night posting the vid. Obviously you got it figured out. I was actually in the garage at the time working on a project for my daughters so I didn't get in until later last night.

Tell Kevin I said hi and good work. I've been following along...

It's almost spring, let's have a GTG and drive when the car's ready, OK?

Mike, thanks very much and not to worry....you're right we did figure it out finally. Too bad it doesn't work. I thought I was linking to one of Kevin's races from last year but instead it's only a cut down version of that video showing only Kevin's burnout at the starting line. When I tried to upload the full version (1 min, 19 seconds), I keep getting a file upload error. I've tried it 6 times now.

I HATE COMPUTERS!!!

Sounds perfect, I'm still a little bummed about my failed attempt at the dyno last year. I think I've got all my bases covered this year though.

How about a ST tech session followed by a trip to the dyno the following week or something? I'd love to see the Shark Tuner in action.

What a great idea, Mike.

We had a rather special day today....Franken-Shark took her first real ride! More than just around the block, I mean. We drove Pandora and Franken-Shark up to Connecticut to visit Ed and Michele today, 150 miles round trip, and she did great! Used up almost a full tank of gas (where I only used a bit more than a quarter tank ), but what the heck, she's sick fast and now she's louder than war.

Got a new exhaust system installed on her that is one decibel quieter than legal. Maybe.

Ed and Michele ....

Thank you for the great time today!!

Default Update: 2 Week Progress Report

Well, it has been a bit over two weeks since Kevin officially put Franken-Shark on the road and finally got himself off to work!

For the curious, other than the car's original trans grenading on the 7th day (blown pump), which was reasonably to be expected with all the new hp it's pushing, and a windshield casualty caused by a flying rock on the first day (which wasn't expected ), and of course the rapidly degrading paint job from rock chips.... ....the car has really been doing very well. Kevin's trip is about 750-800 miles per week, depending on which route he goes, and he has been doing most of the tweaking and tuning of the Split Second system on the fly. Franken-Shark is consuming a bit less gas every day (down from over half a tank to just under half a tank per day), and literally eats every car out there for breakfast that has attempted to challenge her, and Kevin still hasn't put the pedal to the floor!

So from a mechanical perspective, his project was a 100% success, and Kevin's real happy with his results!

Leslie
Thanks for the update - I was just thinking about this thread when I turned the calendar page to April.
Glad to hear the the project came together and Kevin's got it on the road - as a daily driver no less!

Very cool news indeed.

Congrats Kevin! I wish I had some open roads to do my commute each day. My 'DD' only gets to go back and forth to the train station or else I'd be sitting in traffic anyway.

Really looking forward to seeing it. Also blowing out the cobwebs on a drive and GTG.

My car is really dialed in right now (still practically stock compared to Kevin's car, but it gets the blood pumpin') and I'm looking forward to some drives, some GTGs, and a dyno day or two.

Congrats Kevin and Leslie. Very interesting project to follow.

Concrat to you too, Mike, for getting dailed in. I know how good that feels. I believe it's 928 zen.

Thanks very much, guys.

And yes, we have to agree that getting one of these babies dialed in, whether bone stock, or unrecognizably modified, IS one of the best "grin makers" around!! Woooo hoooo!!

Default Evidence of speed :D

Thought you guys might get a kick out of these pictures after a ride home from work in the rain. The dirt and water being thrown back from the cars in front of him is getting caught in the bead up front there, and the resulting mud is literally being pushed all the way up the hood by windforces!

I thought it was cool. Don't mind me.
