Smile What you already know...

I know this is preaching to the flock, nonetheless... I have always loved the 928, though my dream car was the 930 turbo, now CTR. After buying, repairing and selling many 928s I finally got one for myself, a 1990. I rationalized it to myself that my 1981 930turbo is too tiring and positively painful in Tokyo traffic (a left shoe sole actually broke after 2hours of traffic). The true test came when my 930's alternator needed repair so I had to take the 928 on a "touring day" ie. get on the highway with like-minded and like-speced friends and cars. This time a 89-930 Flatnose, 74-ROW Carrera, 93?993GT3-Look, 2007 3.2Boxster and 2007 Muriacalago (sp). Everyone thought the 928 would be the slowest

On the contrary. In full original trim, (no lightening, with GF in the passenger seat) the 928 was all over them. 0-60, top speed, cornering, braking.... she performed with such composure, serenity and understated elegance. While the others were barking, screaming, jarring their occupants, farting smoke, leaking oil, fearing potholes and stone chips, the 928 did as she should, then seemingly went back to rest. Admittedly the Lambo passed me on a flatout at about 250kph, but have you seen the interior on one of those!! For that much $$$ I want leather EVERYWHERE!!! 0-60 I almost hit the Flatnose when, in front of me, he shifted. On the twisties, we were listening to jazz

But hey, the 928 is a different breed of car. I really can not be compared to the 911. Porsche should never have marketed that way. It is still years ahead in design and engineering. After that weekend I doubt even a new Benz could run with it.
After beating the heck out of her, I meet the GFs parents at a classy restaurant. The valet parked the 928 right in front. After dinner, I drove them home, yes 4 people comfortably (Japanese ladies are small). And the icing on the cake!? Mileage improved by 4l/100km.
What A CAR!!!

Cool What you already know pt 2

I must thank the Rennlist community for sorting a few issues I had with her.

I tinkered with every car I had. All I want for this car is a set of Cup wheels and slightly stiffer suspension. But I fear that would take away more than it gives.

Any suggestions?

Lots of opinions on the suspension set ups. I prefer the Eibach/new boge set up. Still a smooth ride (slightly rougher but not overly so) and great handling.

I would wait until you have made the wheel / tire change and see how it rides. I added 18" wheels to mine that had 17" cups and the ride was quite a bit stiffer and tighter in turns.

Thats a nice story, Goodluck with your ride.
For suspension I like the stock springs and Bilstien shocks, I also have the 18 in wheels ride is smooth and controlled but not jarring or noisy.
I have found that to really appreciate the 928 it need to be driven for long distances, thats when you realize how comfortable you are, and competent your GT machine really is. Keep Em Flying!
