I can't believe it's been just over 2 years since I started this thread!
I still use the "to do" list in the first post, and with winter projects kicking off this weekend.. figured it's time for an update.
Not to mention Gregg's (Blown 87) question today about what doesn"t work got me thinking.

I'm in the process of an x-pipe install. It's going well but stalled this eve when I found I was shipped the wrong size exhaust flange.
Also will be installing GT resonators and muffler. Need to get the resonator pipes tweaked a touch this week, and will put them on next weekend.
I think I'll redo the WP & coolant bridge over x-mas break,
along with, hopefully, some 928 x-mas goodies!

Quinn is stll proving to be a really good helper!
She helped me with the whole oil change, start to finish.
I told her I want her to learn how to do it, so she will never have to rely on someone else to do it for her.

I think the whole family bonded with Perl this summer.
Wife and I just took it out for dinner Friday night.

Just past 90K miles. Finally hit my stride with Perl. Feels good!

Thats just awesome Jim. Let me know if you need some help. I doubt I could be an improvement over Quinn.

Default GT Resonators

Just finished a R&R on the GT resonators.

They rear section of both were bent, so I had them fixed. At the same time, they added a 2 1/2" diameter slip-sleeve to the front to work directly with the X-pipe.

After some serious wire-wheel action, and a good laquer cleaning, they're painted (high-temp "ceramic" Dupli-color)

Notice the '87 build date...

Next up is brushing the stainless GT twin-tips, then final fit-up.

Thanks Jay Howell via Chris (Landseer) for the hand-me-down resonators!

Finally getting back into Perl today.
The plan is to finish up a few heavy-hitters before SITM:

Re-seal coolant bridge (helicoil one x-threaded hole)
Replace newer reman WP with new Laso WP
2-year coolant flush
R&R AC system and replace comp pump.
New rear brakes, w/33 bar bias, & 2-year brake fluid flush
R&R CV's

Last year, we hit a higher level of reliability.
This year's plan is to take it to the next level, and to really thin out the "not done" list.

Chris (Landseer) is coming over today to help me get kick-started.
Plan for today is the coolant bridge then WP.
Going to install one of these WYAIT - Kuhn Air/Oil Seperator (Thanks Herr Kuhn! )

Good progress today. Not bad for a few hours....

I was just in there a couple years ago, so everything went smooth.

Thanks for your help, Chris!

Great way to kick-start the spring wrenching season.

Good teardown progress today. Front-side TB/WP done, pulled CV's too.

Tough going all the way back in there again, for a WP that may or may not be suspect. And the WP looks really good.
I just didn't want to take my chances when I know there are better WP options that weren't available to me 2 years ago, within my budget.
And I've seen recently rebuilt WP fail, first-hand.

Same with the belt, only Conti then. Now Gates.

Everything from the last TP/WP looks good.
PorKension'r tensioner in spec. 5mm (range >2 , <9)
Got a little coolant mess to clean up from the leak I had in the bridge.

Figured WYAIT I'll do the FMS even though it's not leaking a drop.

Seems silly to replace the big idler. Will consider that an inspection item. Should easily warn me when it on its way out.
Don't know if I should replace the tensioner. Will check into that.

CV's looked intact, and appears only the outers were replaced at one time.
Will rebuild all as it requires to disassemble the outers to get to the inners.

Chris, thanks again for all your help! I owe you one.

What do ya think, folks... too shiny?

Jim,
Right side looks like it needs to be replaced, left looks ok, starting to wear. Was the belt tight?

Glenn, appeared tight. Not over-tight, but that doesn't mean these original sprockets haven't experience an over-tightened belt in their life.
I'll have to check with AO about recoating these.

Both gears need to be replaced, I bet if you turn the left one 180 over you will find more wear.

Done, Greg. Picked up a set of new ones for $250!

E-brake shoes are toast, and man, new ones are cheap ($155).

Pulled the rad to get more room. Going to helicoil 3 WP threads next.

Front main seal is not leaking. Should I replace it?

A little more progress...
Man, the CV joints are dirty, tedious job!
Should be reporting a bit of progress this week as I button up the car in preparation for SITM.
