Tail Light Warning

When I start the car, the central warning light comes on after about 10 seconds or so. Then, a few seconds after that, the tailight warning comes on. (And then I can press that central warning light button to clear it, but the tailight warning stays on.) This happens with the lights off.

I found the problem. After not being able to get it working after replacing all taillight and side marker bulbs (again), I decided to jumper the BCU. But when taking it out, I discovered that tapping on it made the warning come and go. So....I took apart the BCU, and figured out which component(s) made the warning flicker when wiggled, and then re-soldered those connections. And put it all back together, and it works. Yea!

Where is this thing at? On my 81 I have the light on all the time regardless of the lights switch being on. All my markers and bulbs are workin.

It's under the wooden door in the passenger side footwell, just above the fuse and relay panel. It is a black plastic box about the size of a cigarette box, with a metal bracket attached to it. The same bolts that hold the hinges for the wooden door secure it in place. (And to open it and get to the circuit board inside, there are four small phillips screws on one side.)

Can it be unplugged to kill these stupid bulb warning lights? I've also got a stop lamp warning light as well.

Yes, post #3 has a link where I investigated it. Mine had been back-fed power, so inside was cooked and wouldn't pass power forward through it anymore.
I researched bypass and verified it worked, then later, got a used unit from Roger. Unfortunately, it passed power but gave the warning, so it improved it, but wasn't perfect. Now, from this thread, I may have a fix by resoldering.
Anyway, search BCU, because Porken did it also much earlier than me, and he had a clean way of bypassing it from an executional perspective.
Deep searches yielded advice from WallyP also on the subject, but somewhere in those replies the wrong wires were reported as the ones to bypass, that slowed me down a little bit.
