Default Direct air filter box replacement

I was wondering if there is a direct cone (K&N style) air filter replacement of existing air box. Reason for this is that I have to replace all 4 air box straps and @$36 each I might find just an air filter which fits on top of MAF and under hood without any heavy modifications.

you will loose hp, even though it looks clean. (dyno tested with a nice 4" filter with a bell mouth internal inlet as well) Then, you have only hot air for inlet air. better just to pony up and buy the straps.

I got 911 air box straps for a lot less than that, about $10 each IIRC. They are a bit shorter so they have to be stretched very tight to fit...but that's not a bad thing now is it?

Or instead of a ghey looking cone filter, get 4 large hose clamps from HD, paint them black and use them to tighten down the airbox. Just don't let your airbox be seen in public that way... BTW only loosers use cone filters..dont do it.

The 911 straps only fit the earlier car AFAIK and are $6 each.
Different straps for the later cars.

Oops. Sorry to misdirect, didn't realise the airbox straps were different on the K-jet models. Cool.

Neither cheap nor available insofar as I know, but relevant. The "Blackbird" by 928 Specialists:
