Paul,
I have no pics of that, but the installer has the option of where he attaches the fender to the car. If he attaches the flare at he furthest point, yes, he will need to add some filler to the gas tank flap to blend it in, and a wee little bit to the side marker lights too. If you look, you can see the extra thickness added around the side marker lights that the body shop added to blend it in.
Or, the body shop can trim the fibergalss fender flare more, and that makes its mounting radius much smaller. Then it can be installed and frenched in without getting as far out as the side marker lights or the gas filler cap. This makes a simpler installation, but the fender flare will be a little more abrupt.

Do you sell the hood latch kit??
We like them, they take a tad longer to install than the old hood pins do, but we will use them again on our next front end.

Function over form as those wheels are really out there. Actually, im starting to get use to it after seeing the pics so often. Almost looking like those european touring cars. I bet it handles great with it as wide as it is.

Kibort, I like the look of my racer, thank you very much.
But those flares are way to big for most.
We wanted a more subtle flare for the many requests we get for exactly that.
The body/shop/installer will add a little material to the filler flap, or trim the flare (your choice) so it stops farther away from the filler flap.

I do not. It is from Aerocatch and it can be found here: www.aerocatch.com

Looks nice; I've been looking for this for a while and considered Otts fender flares (also nice), but was hoping for a more factory look like this. Would you happen to have a picture from a wider angle (or not so close to the car) to get a better look at how well it complements the lines of the car?
Thanks,
Nicholas

Agreed, however Carl's car is as the factory would have made it.

Hi Heinrich,
Not taking anything away from Carl's racer, but the way Porsche would have made a 928 racer can easily be seen in the 1984 racer they did for Brumos which ran in the 1984 Daytona 24 Hour race.
By the way, I like these new flares from Carl.
Regards,
Constantine

Constantine, the 928 was never intended to be on a race track. All Porsche's other race cars had flares exactly like Carl's ... in fact even today, they do. Porsche were not allowed to go that route with the 928 because wider track was never homologated. In other words, had Porsche intended for the 928 to race, they would have homologated wider track which they never did, and that would have caused Carl's flares. What they DID do as a stopgap, was to take the widest homologated track and make the best race car they were able .... and that meant no wider track and no flares.

Any pics with the gas flap door open?
Wondering how the gas flap with thickened bottom edge works with the stock hinge and the new flares.
(You guys aren't snowed under by 8 feet of snow yet?)

Nice blend, very subtle. 2" extra each side? Your other wide body kit says it adds 2.5" a side but looks HUGE by comparison.
I like this alot. On my x-mas list already.
BTW did they use 2 sided tape and body filler or rivets and body filler?

Heinrich,
Okay, I understand what you are meaning. Nice explanation and I agree. The new 997 based cup cars do have nice flares on them to cover their wider tracks.
Cheers,
Constantine
