The price is good, and they should be a perfect with those ETs. Get youself some Porsche center caps, and you can always use them. Go ahead experiment with them maybe paint them. As long as you understand that they are not perfect

The fronts at 18x8 ET 50mm are definitely not perfect. I would say they *JUST* fit by the hair of their teETh. Spend $300 more and get the Carrera III's where the fronts are 18x8 ET 57mm.

I was looking at those for my '87. Where can you get the Carrera IIIs for $800?

I also like the Turbo twist 18" rims on the OB's. They were my favorite till I found the 996 rims and now I'm not sure anymore. I was hoping you guys would have a pic to post of them on an OB.

No, those are not the right wheels. They are very close in design though. Unfortunately, those still have the bad front offsets. The easiest way to tell the real Carrera III's is by offsets: 18x8 57mm and 18x10 58mm. You can also tell the difference by the transition of the spokes to the outer edge. I believe the ones linked above are Carrera Classics.

Jason,

Here is my thread on the Carerra 3s:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/409893-17-or-18-wheels.html

I also recollect there is a thread where folks posted pics of their wheels.

I love my factory Carerra-3s! I was lucky to get the complete facttory tire/wheel set off Craigslist for $1K.

Thanks Brad looks great. Now I'm torn between the Carrera III's anf the TT's.

ACG: problem is not everyone posted what their rims were.

I think rims make the biggest improvement on the 928 and it is the most confusing subject too.

Dan,
I can't speak for your car, but the Sport Designs that I have on my '91 S-4 with the 50ET fit perfect on the front end of my car. Not even close to the fender

Then you are probably running stock ride height in the front (175mm+). Many 928's are running much lower heights either because they were lowered or because they have older springs that sag a little. But check out Andrew's wheel offset calculator and you will see how close an 8" ET50 wheel is on the front. It's simple mathematics that an 8" ET50 wheel sticks out much further than a stock 7" ET65 wheel.
