Got my '79 back from the shop, I saved the water pump. Somebody want to do a post mortem on it? It was functional and not the reason for the work done, but it was replaced because there was evidence it was starting to weep around the shaft. It appears to be a genuine porsche model with a plastic impeller. No idea if it's ever been rebuilt.

Roger,

Did you ever end up ordering this other new water pump?

I will need to do an engine overhaul in a month or two and will need a new one

The Hamburg Techic WP's are not that good quality wise according to Greg. I dropped them and now only sell Laso.
