Default New Product: Dual Fan Replacement

I know this product is not "new" - I have seen pictures of the very nice aluminum one by Motorsport and the one by Specialists.

But, its new to us. I was able to get these manufactured to our spec so they exactly cover our 928 radiator core and seal well. They are such a good fit that they stay in place without fasteners (although we provide fasteners), yet they do not push or apply any pressure on to the plastic end tanks.

Photos show it mounted to both and a late-model radiator.

Vents open to allow more cooling at highway speeds, close at stop lights to make the fan shrouds max effective.

Best part: I was able to produce a quality product and still hit a lower price point than others. I am retailing it for $329.

Carl,
That is a great price point!

From the website:
"...Wiring plug provided so you can just plug it in to the wiring harness you have, or splice it in as you like. Draws the same amps as the OEM unit, so no additional wiring is needed."

On the older 928s without a dual fan setup, how does this apply since there are no power leads for an electric fan on the backside?

I understand you sell a thermal switch you can mount to your radiator hose. I understand this fan could be powered by any 12V source (ie. jump post). I assume one would need a relay for this. Is this supplied with your product?

I intended this dual-fan unit as a replacement for the stock dual-fan shroud.

The Belt-Driven Fan Delete Kit we developed for the early cars does have a temp switch and small wiring harness and relay that we manufacture. It places a 16 inch electric fan inside the fan shroud you have now.

See it here: www.928cooling.com

So - the difference is... that kit keeps the stock fan shroud for the early cars intact and places the new electric fan in the center of it. It does provide the wiring harness and relay and everything you need to control the fan automatcially.

This fan replaces the OEM dual fan setup.

Can you install this fan on the older 928 and use our wiring harness and relay to power it? Absolutely.
But I do not have it configured that way at the moment, so send me an email at carl@928motorsports.com and I will get you a special-order price for that.

What is the CFM of the stock dual fans for comparison to this 2,700CFM unit?

Carl,

Congratulations for turning out yet another useful 928 upgrade. I do have several questions about the new setup. I recently converted the mechanical fans on one of my Mercedes to dual electrics, and it looks like we both used the same Spal fan. What are you including with your kit that would make it more 928 specific than the standard dual 11" fan (30102052) available online or from ebay? I still have not upgraded the fans yet on my 89, so am shopping for an easy upgrade. Are you providing specific brackets or harness to make this a plug-and play upgrade?

Thanks in advance, for the reply. Also, I really enjoyed your book. It has taken a prominent position in our library.

We are providing the mounting pins and we [pre-wire the fans together and provide a wiring pigtail for the customer. On 85-86 cars, they will plug righ in... done. On 87-95 cars the pigtail (provided) will need to be spliced in to the OEM fan wiring, thats all.

I have to ask....Why does it look like there is a 1/2" gap on all sides?

Hey Carl....

Looks nice...so how many CFM per fan and how many AMP draw.

Can you also provide me with an overall depth from the back of the radiator core so I can determine of these will clear my SC set up? I'm able to utilize my stock shroud now, this doesn't look as deep.

I may need to get a set of these for next year.

My guess is to allow clearance for the 4 cooling lines on AT cars, but I'll defer to Carl.
