Does it actually do something, or is it something some 19-year-old would bolt on the car just to look cool, after his dad gave him the car for his birthday?

I just looked in my favorites and the LS1/STS site is nolonger up, (trtturbo ls1sts html). The EFI University Electronic Fuel Injection Tuning Forum, had some posts on the 928 rear turbo, but the last post was in 2005. Good luck

I ran one for about 3 years...no boost lag...just power....They have one that put out over 600 hp at 14psi..and the one that was on my car is now on a 88s4 AT with 7psi and over 400hp... Contact JT or Chuck at http://www.p9-m.com/p9-motorsports.html
There is also a kit from a guy down in Texas..but I think he has only one car running right now..check out Pelican board if you want to find him....

I've emailed JT. We'll see what he says about turbo sizing. I tried to drum up conversation on the other "rear mount turbo thread" but no one bites.
If you mount a tank in the center at the back, you could run two smaller turbos. I don't know if that would improve anything.

Mark Robinson in Texas posts on Pelican 928 Technical boards a lot. He is tuning in his car right now. Seems to be doing pretty well though. Sure does look good... Both the car and the Turbo set up. Not sure I would do that to any of my cars. His car is an '86.5 5spd car, I have not seen it on an automatic car yet.

Go outside your house and install a pressure gauge on your water spigot, turn the water on and record the pressure. Then hook-up your garden hose, install the pressure gauge on the end of the garden hose, record the pressure. Same.

Temp down yes, pressure not so much. A restriction in flow is a restriction no mater where it is located.

Not a liquid.
P1*V1 = P2*V2
There is a good temperature difference between the front of the exhaust at the end. It's why you can reduce your pipes size as you go to down the rear of the car, as gaz cooled down taking less space.

Its easier, and works nearly as well. Technically, you could also pass emissions with it.
